I asked in another thread and not sure that I got the right part number. Jeff, are you able to confirm the TRD off road / SR5 lower black unpainted valance? The part number I previously got was pulling up a cost of around $600. This doesn't seem right...

I was wondering the same thing. You would need to know if the body control module is the same. They list many different ones and are a pain to track down the correct part numbers. Plus you would have to see if it was prewired. Im picking up my truck tomorrow, was planning on looking to see at some point if it was doable.

This is the other piece I was speaking about (along with the side flares) that go on the OR in black.

Hi - Can you list the part number for the OR/Sport shift knob (Auto trans). Apparently it is Leather and different from the SR5 vinyl.

    Thanks

Well then why does it take my 15 minutes of idling or 10 miles of driving in the morning for my truck to blow warm air? Am I doing something wrong, is my truck broken, or is this only on the premium and tech package trucks?

Have you tried this? Not sure if Tacomas have the exact same criteria to kick on the electric heater:

"Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) heater is a small electrical heater located in the heater core and is used on vehicles equipped for cold areas. See Fig. 78 . PTC heater may be turned on if all of the following conditions exist: temperature control switch is at MAX HOT position, engine speed is more than 1050 RPM, engine coolant temperature is less than 176°F (80°C) and generator power ratio is less than 95 percent. PTC heater may also be turned on and off depending on generator power ratio."

Yeah while driving to work at below zero all those things are being met. Some mornings I swear my diesel Duramax blows warm air sooner than my 2016 Taco. That's why I was surprised to hear that it has this special feature.

Does max hot include having the cabin recirculation on? Maybe that is where I am messing up?

How can you tell if your truck is equipped with a PTC heater?

According to @Jeff Lange all the v6 models have it. I just must not be doing something right because mine does not seem to blow warm air until the engine temperature is up. What am I missing? It has been miserable cold this winter!!!!

Hmm, my truck seems to warm up fast, much fast than my 2nd Gen. Certainly faster than 10 miles (more like 2).

Do you have the recirculation button on or off?

I'm confused. Maybe I am expecting it to warm up too fast at sub zero temps. I'll hop in cold in the morning and reset the trip odometer and see how far it takes to blow warm.

Don't think so. It does warm up. Just not much different than any other truck I have driven that did not have this feature.

I cranked mine up this morning (~35°) just to see, definitely a little bit of heat just pissing against the cold. I could smell it more than feel it though, fairly certain it's the first time the PTC has been active as it was cook off I was smelling.
