It looks pretty clean. The mileage is getting up there; but it's a Toyota, it'll last you until there's holes in the floor. IMO, wiggle it down a grand-ish and snatch it. Good luck!

    I think that's a pretty decent price.

Yeah, there are a few I looked up going for a few thousand more than that. Granted they are lower mileage, but still. I'd say it's fair, but I always try and wiggle them down, they expect it anyway.

*Have the front brakes been changed recently then? Typically the rear brakes last longer than the front, as they do less of the work.

Why 2 threads asking the same question? And didn't you look at this a couple weeks ago?

Not bad, I sold my 02 trddcor 4wd in September with 185k for $9,000. Check the frame for rust around the cat converter area.

I didn't check the kbb price on it but in my experience if it has a cracked windshield and needs brakes it was owned by someone not very concerned about maintaining it. Just be sure to check it out thoroughly and don't pay high blue book for it since it needs those things.

Not always. At least the owner knows what needs to be done and admits it.
If I was gonna sell my Ford, I wasn't telling anyone what it needed HAHA.

OP: it also looks like it needs new tires (like a while ago).

This is why people have trust issues when buying used.

But it does look like the tires could be replaced.

My truck has been maintained very, very well. The routine things it needed should not impact the over all price of the vehicle, which is why I wouldn't say anything to anyone I was selling it to or trading it into. If people don't want to pay for routine maintenance items, don't buy old trucks.

But that's the thing. A vehicle could look maintained, but that's just appearance. People should still know what maintenance has been recently worked on, and what still needs to be worked on. And all that should be reflected on the price. I dont think it should be the buyers responsibility to buy a mystery car and hope that it doesn't break down when they try to drive it home.

But I guess we don't live in a perfect world and people still try to squeeze out every dollar out of selling a used car by hiding it's flaws.

It's not squeezing every dollar. My truck is worth what it is worth. Yeah it needs a new timing chain and water pump. It's got over 200K on it. But I'm not going to have someone tell me they want $700 off the price because of that. No. don't buy it if you don't want to pay it.
I look at it from the other extreme, I feel people try to rip you off when they can lol.

If someone asked me about maintenance, I'd tell em. If they don't ask though.
I have 100% of the records, so it's not like the information isn't there for the seller.

So you want the same price for yours, as one that has had a necessary $700 item replaced?

Yep, you're the reason people don't trust the used market.

Yes. Routine maintenance items do not drive down the cost of a vehicle.

Are you also going to demand to take off $50 because I'm nearing the next oil change and you'll have to do that too?

I seriously doubt when you go to sell a used truck you will list everything wrong with it on the ad. You'll say it needs new tires, new oil change, maybe needs a timing chain, new water pump in 2k miles etc.

I'm sure you'd list everything it needs, because that makes it soooo attractive to buyers.
Why don't dealers do that for new cars? List that regular maintenance on a vehicle that lasts 200k miles is usually several thousand dollars. It may make people trust them more and pay more for their cars.

I think you are misunderstanding me buddy.

I am fully understanding you, and that's my problem with you. When the routine maintenance item costs $700, no logical person in their right mind would pay as much for that vehicle as one that has already had the work done, why would you?

And yes, when I sell vehicles, I actually do so with full disclosure, because it's the honest way to do it. If I wanted to buy a vehicle the way you sell them, I would just go to a sleazy used car dealer(which is exactly why they have that reputation and garner zero respect).

Mine's 2 years older with more miles and I wouldn't sell it for that. So I would say it's a good deal. When I was shopping for mine I was excited to find a really good deal on an 06 with 82k miles for 12k. Looked really nice but it needed tires and it had the tan interior I don't particularly care for. But for the price I could have lived with it. Until I opened the door. No stains but it smelled so bad it was incredible. Like wet dog and feces. Horrible. The dealer offered it to me for 9k (and this was 4 years ago) and I still walked.
