Just got a new TRD Sport and am going to replace the Dunlop AT20 Grandtrex with the Michelin LTX M/S2. Anyone in SE PA looking to buy a set.
Costco has a good price and an additional $70 off a set of 4 Michelin this month.

Sorry, a little late replying. They might be a bit louder than the original BFG's that came on my '13 TRD Off-Road, but not much. They ride amazingly. And I think I get better mileage with them- still need a few more fill-ups to evaluate.

For those talking about stones look at the photo on this page. I bet if I looked at my tires right now I'd have 2 or 3 in there right now and I drove a gravel road last weekend and do 70 MPH for at least 50 miles a day.

@dirtychemist I find small pebbles lodged into my tires every single day. Many times I'll pick them out. Some are much more difficult than others. And I don't commonly drive off paved surfaces. In fact this morning I drove in to work with the windows down (it's nice outside). I could hear the tapping sound of a stone in my tire every time the tire made a full rotation.

It's really the only flaw in these tires that I can find.

Curious as to why you chose 265/70 over 265/75?

Truck came stick with 245/75r16, Michelin dealer didn't have that size but said 265/70r16 was same height, just a little wider. They said its standard on trd off-road.

Same thing for me. I did 265/70/16 because that's what Toyota sold me. Had I done more research I'd have gotten 75's. But I didn't educate myself on tire sizes well enough in advance.

Now that we're into winter here in Montana I wanted to update this thread! I've driven my Michelin LTX M/S2's in a couple cruddy weather/road days. Nothing deep and slushy yet. But light snows (1-3") and sub freezing temps on roads that are packed down from heavy traffic. I think they've done quite well so far. Definitely night and day difference from what I recall the Dunlop AT20's being like after a light dusting of snow.

Still glad to have 4x4 though! Helps when accelerating from a total stop or changing lanes (snow piles between lanes can cause traction changes!). These are not a winter weather snow rated tire by any means. But I'm cruising at 65-70mph on straight roads and not worrying much. We'll see how the rest of winter goes.

Been saying it for months, but I think I've gone as long as I can with my current set of BFG tires.

These LTX M/S2's are really the ones I want. I'm still scratching my head as to why my current size is not listed on Michelin's website. I don't want the 75's for fear of tire rub in certain situations.

Don't be scared. Get the 75's. They won't rub.

You might not see it because Michelen is phasing out the MS2's and replacing them with the Defender LTX MS. It's a roll-out over time. So, MS2 is still available in some sizes, but for other sizes you have to go with the Defender.

I just got the Defenders (I was on MS2). Same tire, but slight update to the rubber compound. It's supposed to be slightly better in snow/wet conditions.

I went with 265-70-16. I can tell a difference from the 245-75-16 I had previously. I notice a difference in size only (not MS2 vs Defender). The two tires ride the same, sound the same, look nearly identical. I expect wear to be the same.

My 2016 limited 4x4 came with the Michelins. Have 4k so far and am very pleased with them. I live in SC so no snow experience yet!

Which "model" of Michelin? I can't imagine they'd put a MS2 on a new truck.

LTX M/S2 has been replaced by the LTX Defender.

Better traction in wet and snow but reduced mileage warranty. Otherwise same tread pattern. My M/S2's kick butt on snowy/icy roads.

Though I'm considering 33" Cooper Maxx's for OffRoad purposes.

Michelin LTX M/S 2 has been by far the best truck tire I have ever owned and I would not want anything else. I have 285/75/16 on my 2012 Tacoma 4WD TRD Sport DCSB. While they do cost a little more, IMO, the ride quality and tire life makes it well worth it.

I freaking love these tires. As a all around tire they are hands down the best tire out there. I have used them in 2ft of snow at elk camp and drove them 65k miles before I changed them for coopers. Ended up putting my truck in a ditch and smashing the passenger side of my truck up pretty good. This was a road I had driven 1000's of times in every condition with my m/s2 and never a problem. Well I look them back and got my second set of the m/s2 tires.

We have some of the nastiest winters up here. I put on a set of LTX MS/2's, I couldn't be happier. Wet, dry, ice, snow, no issues. Michelin is a great tire brand.
