So, April 9th I am going down to Talladegga Motor Speedway. My dad is going to do the NASCAR experience thing there. This will be his third time. He did the one in Vegas and another one somewhere else (i forget). He loves that shit. I think it is funny though because he doesn't really follow NASCAR or Sprint cup (if that is what it is anymore, idk, I don't follow either).

Me and the boy are gonna meet him down there. We can sit in on the driver training and safety meeting, then I guess we go to pit road with him when he gets in and races. He gets 2, 8 minute sessions in the car. Probably about 5 or 6 laps each. The last so times he did it he had a co driver. This time he will be solo.

Pretty cool. He's pumped, and the boy is too. He wants to see the car.

Thank you for this awesome perspective from a different point of view than what I was expecting! Makes me a bit more excited to check around Columbia than I was initially.

@dan0mite Yup....Chapin area is full of growing neighborhoods and the schools are top rated for the state....that's why we moved here.I've heard good things about the Fort Mill and parts of the Rock Hill areas also.

Fort Mill is great especially in the Tega Cay area, like an extension of south Charlotte.

Lived there for three years myself, technically just across the border in rivergate but worked in fort mill. A lot of new construction, everything we heard was that the schools are excellent, and it was a 15 minute drive into Charlotte and you are right there in lake Wylie. Traffic could get a little congested but they are working on that.

I've never heard a bad thing about the fort mill / Tega cay area yet other than traffic flows and some "minor" things @SC2SC told me. This is why we're leaning very heavily towards that area if we decide not to move to charleston.

Plus access to an international airport is important.

Haha. By working on it I mean sometime in the next 10 years they should have hwy 160 widened to 4 lanes. After it goes to two at gold hill its a cluster. I also beat it by going to work at odd times or taking back roads.
