@Daria if you decide to live near spartanburg there are a few really good places that I know to eat there. I went to school at usc upstate. There is The Junction which is a buffet of country cookin, Myako Sushi Group(msg) in downtown, there is a BBQ place on Herron Circle that is really good but can't remember the name, and in downtown there is rj rockers brewery. If you want cheap good beer there is Delaneys Irish pub downtown, they have good deals and a pint night.

RJ Rockers makes some great beers. My wife loves their Son of a Peach. @Daria it's about 45 minutes from Cherrydale to Sparkle City so a bit of a drive down I-85 but not a bad place to check out.

Good Luck on the fishing, they had a lot of flooding up that way this past week.

like this? haha that's just down the road from where we will be fishing this weekend. the chair was already there. if you know where yellow gap road is, that's where we camped. for some reason that's the only picture I have of the place. it was beautiful though. ground was frozen solid for the first two nights, then the temp finally got high enough to turn the whole thing into mud haha. the dog kept running into the water and then sprinting laps to warm back up. she ended up having icicles all over her. and yes that's a whole bag of flour. my woman like to cook awesome pizzas over the fire.

the stream looked pretty good. it was tight, but had really good structure. we didn't catch anything on that one in particular but that's not to say there were no fish. just down the forest service road was the Mills river recreation area where we did catch a few. im still new to the creeks and stuff up there so I don't know what creeks actually hold fish (are stocked) and which ones don't. im praying for a good catch! we are going with Davidson river outfitters for the guide service and so far they've been great!

Some of my favorite friends live in Spartanburg, well Boiling Springs. I always go over there to see them when I'm in Greenville. They're supposed to help me unload the moving truck. I'll be living north of downtown and south of Travelers Rest in the Cherrydale area. Cant wait to finally eat some new food, I'm bored in Cola.

I love me some Sparkles. Mostly my friends though. As many times as I've been there, still haven't had any local food.

its pretty nice. it was really crowded early in the day, I think that was a Saturday, but it started to get rainy so everyone left and we took to the water. theres plenty o f trails and space farther up the river, so im sure you can find a good spot to stop and fish.

I can see it now! its horrendous! :goingcrazy: that would kill me. everytime I see people doing that down the Edisto theres always empty beer cans and trash all over the place from it. I don't mind people tubing, but be a responsible adult and fucking clean up after yourself. litter makes me bitter haha

true story. anytime we go out and do anything on the beach or outside in general where drinkings involved, my buddy and I always end up having to pick up after people because theyre just worthless. we were on a nice little beach down here off fort Johnson over the 4th of july and legitimately almost beat some douchebags ass because he was just throwing his GLASS beer bottles into the creek that you have to walk across barefoot to get to the place in the first place. there are rocks on the other side and he was trying to get them to break on them. my other buddy was livid. I thought he was going to kill him.

Drives me crazy too, I just don't understand why people do these things. I had a neighbor once who's friends would come over and always trash the parking lot outside our townhomes. I asked them nicely about it once, then the next time I told the property manager. After that I was the neighborhood racist white guy. :notsure:

yep. luckily one of their buddys was smart enough to get that moron in line again. most of the people out there that day were employees of the local department of natural resources so its not like we would ever be out numbered haha
