    How did you get 12"? 6" kit+ cranked coilovers or a spacer+ 3" body lift? I'd also like to see some more pics of that beast:)

    The ride quality of a that Taco gotta be garbage. It looks a little too tall with the narrow Boggers. 6" seems perfect. I have the 3" Toytec Ultimate which is getting replaced with Fabtech basic 6" with OME 885's/shocks. 35" MTZ as well replacing the BFG KM2 285's. It's getting installed tomorrow.

    I've got a similar question for those of you with 6" lifts:

    I'm interested in getting my truck lifted, but want to make sure I get what's best for me. I'm interested in absolute ground clearance on the 6" kits w/ 33" tires. Can someone with that setup (Krookz, etc) take some measurements for me?

    What's the lowest point on the truck after the 6" lift, not counting the rear diff? I'd assume the subframe connectors, no? What's the clearance from the ground to the bottom of the subframes, directly after the front tire. As in, as passing over an obstacle, as the front tires exit it, where it would hit the subframes, what's the ground clearance there? And what's the ground clearance at the front crossmember?

    Eureka, a fellow NORTHERNER. Awesome. :cool: As far as the ground clearance you arent gaining a whole lot other than from the tires from my understanding. I believe it is because it is a drop bracket lift, so your not really gaining and ground clearance, except for the frame of course.

    Yeah, I've seen a few driving around town, but haven't had a chance to inspect closely, so I was pretty sure, not 100% sure :)

    What's your measurement at that DB connector, right after the front tire? You've got the setup that I'd pretty much be looking for if I go the 6" route (5" fabtech, 33" so it can stuff, sheet bumper, etc), so your measurement could be MY measurement someday ;)

    Also, i've read some "differences" between the procomp & fabtech drops, that they use different proportions of things to get their 6" lifts… I understand that the front suspension doesn't "get lifted" and stays low, near factory settings, but I want to know if I LOSE ground clearance through there, or just don't gain any, which is why I ask for the measurements of the front suspension, so I can compare to my still-stock truck.

    I'd really appreciate it if you could post your measurements for those, man. My silver DB looks up to yours!

    Sweet, thanks a bunch for that.

    I wanted to check my math, I had posited in another thread that a 3" lift should give me about ~14.5" of lift at the lowest point (crossmember, once the exhaust is welded out of the way) with 33" tires, and that considering the DB frame connectors, I'd probably end up with ~16" of usable ground clearance after the tires… I wasn't far off the mark :D

    Food for thought!

    On another off-road note, how durable are those connectors? I mean, I've been told but don't have the experience obviously, that they are tough as non-galvanized nails and you can essentially use them as slides… True? Are they useful in that regard, or do you need to be extra careful to keep them from contacting, for fear of bends & dents? Looking at them, it seems like they could be kinda a weak link… :confused:

    But that's not what I've been told (by someone with a financial interest in the matter…:eek:)

    :) Yeah no matter what your lowest point is still ~5" higher than mine. But I manage to find things that make me want to have the most I can get (while still having a reliable truck). I mean hell, even after a 6" lift, you gotta think, you're still only pushing less than 1.5 feet of absolute ground clearance between the axles :eek:

    Still not that much!

    Is it common to run the OME setups with the DB kits?

    On my 99 Tacoma I ran OME 881s and the PC 4 " kit and everything was aligned fine.

    on an 05+ the Fabtech along with the OMEs would be what, rought 7.5" lift?

    I will ordering a kit in the next month or so for a new project and need to decide which way to go.

    Fabtech pro kit with the coilovers, or Fabtech performance kit with OME front shocks and coils?

    Alot of good info here guys, keep it up
