I love my 2015 access cab with right under 3,000 miles on it... but I really like the look of the 2016's. Should I buy a new one? Give me your opinions on why or why not.. thanks!

Go for it if you like it.
Your 2015 holds it value quite well and no better time to trade before the 2016's start hitting the used market. Where are you located?

I traded my 2016 trd short bed in to get the long bed. I'd recommend the long bed.
The double cab is nice for that extra room.

I sold my 2015 GMC Canyon because it had terrible shifting habits and was terrible to drive. Bought a 2015 Tacoma and absolutely love it. When I let off the gas and then accelerate, it moves. When I put my foot in it, it goes.
Now I'm reading all over the internet forums that the 2016 Tacoma is having similar transmission problems. Until Toyota comes up with a software fix, which they may or may not, keep the 2015.

At a local dealer they have a left over 2015 double cab but not sure how much they are able to drop on the price. They still want 34k for it..

Meh if you're happy with it just keep it. Mull it over and then go with a 2017 if a 3rd gen is what you are truly set on.

Impulse because you like the looks of it isn't a great reason to just jump into a new truck if you love the one you have.

I really like the 2016 also, but I honestly would wait to see if the shifting problem is addressed. If it is fixed, I may go to a 2016 myself, but I really like my 2015. The only reason I would trade is that my son wants it.

Need to find dealers who get aggressive. They sold my 2016 quicksand trd sport with only 4,000 miles for $34500. Was on the lot for 2'days.

The "shifting problems" aren't really that noticeable. Especially after you have over 2000k on the vehicle. It slightly annoyed me at first but now I don't even notice it, especially when I am listening to music. I haven't really had any other complaints. It drives better than the 15, it's quieter and more comfortable. Not to mention better mpg. 3 or 4 mpg more might not sound like a big difference, but it becomes noticeable if you commute an hour every day like I do. Not to mention the larger gas tank. If you have driven the 2nd gen for a while then it will be annoying switching to the new engine. Its not even a minor problem though.

I did see a sr5 with out the chrome grill and it looked much better. I would trade a 15 for a 16. Give that engine a couple of years .
