Sounds like she was clearly not prepared to talk with you!

Sorry to hear your problems are getting worse. Some days I feel the vibes even at idle or in the 1k range (must be a harmonic of some sort) but nothing ever rattles. Like most of you, my patience is growing thin for a resolution to this.

are we thinking the exhaust is related to the vibe issue?

Honestly, I felt unprepared to talk to her. Never expected a call, and I was driving to boot. Got to hand it to whoever this Monique case manager was at Toyota. World-class bs'er.

Had meeting with Toyota regional guys today. 2 of them. Told me this was there first hearing of this. Drove my truck 20 minutes. Agreed that concern is there and is noticeable. Drove new truck and had same opinion. There opinion is that if there is only a handful of cases and the majority of people believe this vibration to be acceptable that nothing will be done. I reiterate that the only way to escalate this to the next level is people making a call to corporate and getting a case number. So all of you that feel it and believe it to be acceptable your help is needed to make the calls. Those of you that are just watching this thread and are hoping for others to get it done please make the call!

One of the things that seems rather common is that this problem starts out rather mild or unnoticeable and often progresses to the intolerable levels being reported. I mean who would buy a truck that had such an obvious problem on a test drive? Duh. Very curious. Bearings do not like vibes of any kind and I wonder if we will soon see a catastrophic failure because of it. At least the root cause will likely be revealed at that point.

Well, a lot of people get assigned to the same Customer Care Specialist- Monique. It's funny reading some of the comments here and at toyotanation.com as she always acts like it's a 'new' complaint and that it's not something they are aware of or have heard about before. She is good at acting dumb or ignorant of the issue. A good corporate shill, as it were.... Kinda like listening to a presidential press secretary protecting their boss....to the tune of sounding ridiculous most of the time.

The issue shared by many is directly related to RPM's. If you are only getting the vibration in the steering wheel at 64+, I'd certainly look at tires/wheels balance/oor first. If you let go of your steering wheel at those speeds, does it shake or shimmy? Mine is perfectly still when the vibes are there when I let go and the vehicle tracks perfectly straight. It is a buzzyness kinda like being at the barber shop and feeling the buzz from the high speed clippers or a high speed vibrator....but in the steering wheel, gas pedal, floorboard, etc. My wife was driving me around yesterday (I have pneumonia and am on pretty heavy meds right now...) and I grabbed the handle on the passenger side door frame. Felt the buzz there and in the floorboards as she drove through the suspected range as we went about our business....it's a very 'tingly' buzz, too.

We need thousands of reports to Toyota. Something like 10% of production to get this rolling.

Wow, if my Taco ever gets to 64+ mpg, I'm not going to complain about the vibration near my feet.

Did the tires/wheels/balancing already. Same vibe in stock is the same with the KO2's on stock wheels.

That's what I feel, just a buzz, almost numbing on the hands but not unitl I hit over 60 mph.

Not sure if it's all these posts or I'm feeling the same buzzing feeling now:confused:. I only have about 500 miles on my truck now, as I do mostly short trips but I do seem to feel a slight buzzing. I'm still thinking its exhaust harmonics. :fingerscrossed: That it doesn't get worse or get as bad as Doobiewah's and others.

That's it....just might not be too bad at lower speeds for you. I first noticed it at the higher speeds, myself.

Yeah, I feel nothing at speeds under 55 or so. I'm taking my hands off the wheel and barely
touching it with fingertips to feel it and nothing, but above that 63 mark and it comes on.

Sorry to hear about that response. Pretty audacious. I also had this "Monique" case manager early on. She was deft at double-speak and making you feel like the truck's problem is really yours. Also know she flat-out lied to me a few times. Luckily I got a new case manager who was vague and non-committal. But he didn't bullshit me or lie like she did.

Also sorry to hear about this sorry response also. I don't believe this is the first they're hearing of it either. Don't care how many times corporate or customer service reps do it. They're hearing it. As always, keep up the reports. Even just an email with the details.

Do you notice what RPM range the tachometer is at when above 63? Is it working in the 1800-2300 range?

yes, always. I have added spacers and KO2's to the stock wheels BUT, I take the same path at the
same speed 5 days a week and all configurations vibed the same way at the same
    rate of speed.

Well, then: She must be the "spokesperson" for this issue. Get another buzzing truck complaint? Assign it to her!

In any event, the wife and I have been talking about what's next here. She got her new retirement SUV last summer and loves it, while I'm stuck with this and brooding. She hates the buzzing sound/feeling on the passenger floorwell and door also. I am seriously considering off-loading this thing and just buying another Tundra, size be damned.

Anyone heard anything on trucks rolling off the line in the last 30 days or so since the field techs started meeting with owners and investigating?
