AT2 vs KO2

ordered a new 16 off road, looking at these two tires in 265/75/16. I like the fact that the Toyo is c rated and lighter than the ko2, but the ko2s just look awesome and I've always wanted a set of bfgs. Just worried about the weight and the possibility of a stiff ride.

Any thoughts or pics of the AT2s? I've seen the ko2s on the 16s and they look great, would love to see the toyos on a 16 off road.

the at2 extreme are nice but the regular at2's are more car tire looking.. i don't think comparing toyo to bfg is very fair...!

I am reallly considering a set of ko2's for my next set. Love the look and nothing bad i can find on them.

I run the ko2 and I love them. They are a bit heavy and do feel a bit stiff but that is not a problem for me. They are pretty quiet and handle good offroading

I'm ordering a set of toyo open country at 2 in the morning, from the pics and reviews they seem to be the best deal for the money with a 65k tread life, and I get them at cost for $128 a tire

I have the Toyo's, 265/70/17 on my 07 4Runner Sport and they look pretty good and since not that heavy, ride very well and does not affect MPG.

I had some 295/60/20 Toyo At2 extremes on my last truck and they sucked. The truck rode rough as heck and the tires had no wet traction at all. I was debating on buying BFG KO2's when I seen something else Id rather drive and traded. The company I work for has BFG's on the work trucks and they do great in any condition.

I have the BFG KO2's on my 2005, They are an LT165/75 R16 and 10 ply. Yes they are heavy. I replaced the old style KO2's with the new style. All I am going to say is, They Have Been Great, You Will Not Be Sorry!!!

I am looking also. I just can't pull the trigger on a 10 ply tire on a Tacoma. The county road I live on is not well maintained and I think they would beat me and the truck to death. I love the look of the ko2s. Like the look of the dura tracks, but lots of mixed reviews on them. I am leaning toward the at2s.
Honestly it is hard to not go back with the Hankooks. I had them on my 08 and the were great. They lasted 60k with no problems at all.

ELKAHOLIC I live on a county dirt gravel wash board road, They aren't that bad, The biggest issue is they are rock throwers.

I'm actually running at2s in 285s on my full size truck right now. Love the tires, I'm at 60k right now with rotations every 5k and they'll probably get 80k pretty easily. I want to see some lt 265/75 on a new Tacoma to compare the look to the ko2s. If the ko2s came in C it would be perfect for the Tacoma

I showed my wife both tires, she said get the KO2s hands down.
I am still worried about the ride and loss of mpg's

So what mpg's are yall getting with the 10 ply KO2s???

i love my KO2's 285/75/16 quiet but mpg's are down a bit... I dont really care since the ride is smooth and quiet.

Having run the KO2's a while now, they are a marginal off road tire. They look good, so if you want the looks, they are hard to beat. Off road, they are average. Wet road traction is poor. Gravel road is not only poor, but these things pick up, and keep, every fucking rock 1/2" or less. In sand, they are better than the last generation, but average for an A/T. Rock, they are average. Wet rock = a joke. That all being said, they are still strong, quiet, and are good on dry roads. So far, in my testing, These are a bit better than the last generation, but most every other A/T tire has more to offer.

Reasons? Why they aren't as good? Well....Compared to every other A/T I have ran, these things turn to slicks in mud. Turn to slicks in gravel. The whole "Rock & Mud Clearing design" is garbage. The guy that said that, should have one of these tires stuck in his ass. The Toyo AT2 gives much more off road traction than the BFG's. Clears mud, and rocks WAY better. As for a recommendation....I'm not sure I can do that, as I can only gauge a tire on the terrain I run on. Dirt can vary quite a bit, state to state. My personal list for Arizona terrain, is like this:

#1. Goodyear Duratrac
#2. Cooper ATZ
#3. Toyo AT2
#4. Nitto Terra Grappler

Well Arizona Terrain And New Mexico Terrain I would have to say are Pretty Much EQUAL!!!!! I have had them in over a foot of snow and mud during an Elk Hunt. Thick Slimy Mud getting into where I Duck Hunt. I live on a gravel dirt road. I Would say these tires do an AWESOME Job For Me. Maybe Your Jeep And Driving Abilities Need Some Help.

LOL!!...I really don't think I can influence a tire to perform differently based on what, and how I drive. That being said, Yeah....they are better than a street tire, but not as good as other tires on the market. IN fact, they perform on the lower end.
