It worked good. Normal white was blinding in the fog the amber cut thru the fog

This thread has consumed all of my time recently, I'll put this out there hoping for a simple/short answer or suggestion. I'm looking to do a light bar behind my grill and add a radius light bar in the future on the roof. I want an amber/white LED option for both ideally, but definitely for behind the grill as I am often in fog/snow conditions. I don't want a cover (rather a switchable amber/white bar). With thoughts of the two bars working together, what combo, spot, or flood pattern do you guys suggest for each bar to derive the best span of light but also be useful enough for low light/snowy conditions?

I'm not sure I understand the difference between 3D and 4D bars or the best way to ensure the bar and wiring our truly waterproof (again, snowy conditions). I have been looking into Lifetime LED for the grille bar, but I haven't found a radius amber/white bar yet (they only make straight). My thoughts are that the amber light in the grille might be enough for the low light conditions, but I would add the radius bar for wide angle light throw?

Does the curved light bar reflect off of the windshield and hood? I have been reading a lot about glare.

I recently purchased some Trac Performance light bar brackets for my 50" light bar. I read that these mounts do not involve drilling for double cabs.... But I'm confused on where these holes are at?? Any help? :notsure:

Possibly under weatherstrip on roof where factory roof rails bolt on to.

So I think I can help. Basically there are 3 different types of chips. And 2 lenses. And then multiple combos there of.
    Chips. #1 epistar= lowest quality.
#2 cree what we are most used to seeing.
    #3 Osram
Then we have flat or fish eye lense. = supposed to throw light farther.
So generally you have a Cree with flat lense.
A 3d is a Cree chip with the fish eye lense.
A 4d is an Osram chip w fish eye . = German chip highest output but narrowest beam.
So idk of any curved amber bars. But I think amber needs to be mounted as low as possible because you want to get the light under the fog onto the road if that makes since.
I can tell u 1 think when I have my bars on while snow is actively falling it's like being in outer space the snow reflects the light back and it's give me that wired feeling. So I don't run them if snow if falling.
I think the best combo. Would be a 3d cree curved all spot white up top that way it throws the light out past the hood reducing glare. And an amber or amber/combo bar down as low as possible.

I checked underneath there and didn't really find a hole, maybe I should check better. Does anyone have a pic of where it is exactly??

The threaded holes are under the weatherstrip, covered in tape/sealant and painted over at the factory.
