i have been reading post in this forum for a few months now, and have noticed that there seems to be a group of folks who are of the opinion that the 3rd generation Tacoma is the biggest piece of crap to roll off the assembly line since the Edsel. Some of those folks at least according to their profile info don't even own a 3rd generation Tacoma.
So I want to get just the facts if possible. Let's find out. I would like people to reply to this thread with the statement of either "I regret purchasing a 3rd generation" or. "I am happy with my purchase of a 3rd generation". To reply you must be a 3rd generation owner. NO "I heard from my friends, cousins, brother" crap. If you regret your purchase please give specific reason(s)why. I just want to know if this is bull crap floating around bad mouthing a good vehicle and if I am one of a few who got lucky and got a good truck with no issues. Or if there is a real problem with this vehicle. Thank you for your time.

Own one, have just under 1k miles
So far I have no issues/complaints. Love the truck. Even more so since I found the etc button. It holds the truck better into its power band imo. If they do a trans software update, it would be nice to have that setup ad the normal shift points

My truck is fine. I have a few small rattles and bullshit issues. Nothing major.

There are a lot of Folks on this forum that NEVER have anything constructive to say. I have 2600 miles on my 3rd. Generation and love it. 1 minor issue that the dealer took care of that day. Highly recommend the truck.

Since purchasing my truck I have lost my job, my wife left me for another woman, my dog was run over by a Chevy Colorado, and I have contracted the Zika virus. Coincidence? I think not.

No regrets yet. But I will hold my opinion of the 2016 until I have 150000 miles on it. All vehicles have small problems, but reliability beyond 100k is when I will be able to assess if it was a good truck.

Only issue was low transmission fluid. I love the truck. Has power and when I get on it passing another car it feels better than my 99 Chevy did

I came from a 2000 extra cab 3.4 4wd automatic. I now have a 2016 double cab I4 2wd automatic. I actually like the new one better once I got used to the larger size. It rides and drives good, has more room for grand kids and the I4 has enough power to do the job I want. I don't need the 4wd anymore, so I don't miss it.

I look at it as an suv with a bed instead of a trunk. It hauls surfboards, bicycles and the occasional load of lumber or other things I wouldn't want to put inside an suv.

I expect to get many years of dependable service from it.

I'm all happy, sappy with my 4 cylinder.

OP.... There is a "Ignore" feature on this site. If you add those jokers to your ignore list , this is a pretty civil place to hang out. Try it and I'll bet you will like it.

I don't see moving avatars, stupid pictures people post because they think it is cute. I have no time for there foolishness.
