A little bit of paint (to the rims) and some cleaning made a big difference…..

Having only 2 different types/brands of tires,as opposed to 4, makes a big difference as well….LOL.

It looks like you are missing the rear bump stops (u-bolts hold them to the top of the leaf packs).

What part of eastern Canada ? My dad grew up in Thunder Bay.

I thought the blocks bolted to the frame just above the axle were bump stops?

    Extreme east……Newfoundland.

Thanks. She seems to be in really decent shape……so hopefully I can stay ahead of the body rust and get a few good years out of it.I'm half thinking of a plain steel rim with no slots in it and skinny tires……kind of like the first Toyota pickups style from 1979 ish.

Forgive the crappy photo, but this gives you an idea what it looks like. The upper and lower ones are supposed to work together. The FSM calls them 'spring stops'. I think the older generation toyota pickups and 4runners use the same ones, so they should be obtainable at your local wreckers.

WOW, that is extreme east, you're almost in Greenland :D

Yes,far enough east to have our own time zone…..1/2 hour difference from the rest of Atlantic Canada.

I just redid my rear, rusted a hole through the differential, welded on a new cover and slapping on some POR15. I decided to replace the bearings, seals, and brakes while i had it apart. Id reccomend you do the same if you rust a hole in the pumpkin, its very thin metal.image.jpg
