Are we expecting heavy snow on North Fork? I ask since I have a friend in an LR4 who may want to go, but he doesn't have chains nor aggressive tires.

Last weekend there wasn't any. There was a small pile in the corner but the road was clear.

No, I have not done a build thread. Here's a little photo dump for those interested:

Nah, its just the county road. No need to air down. Unless we explore farther up, there's probably snow. The road is rather rough, airing down might improve the ride. :)

I just had back surgery last week, so I'm thinking the less I have to bring on this quick trip the better. BUT, a softer ride might be nice

Wow! Thank you for sharing. Just a couple questions...
-What is a cab mount chop and what does it do for you?
-You don't have any rubbing with the 37's?

The piece of the frame that holds up the front of the cab is one of the first places to rub. You cut part of it off and weld in a filler plate to retain the strength. It's right behind the front tire.

Heres a picture with the CMC area in red. You have to cut it back and then reweld a plate to it. Basically giving yourself a bit more room. As for the 37's...yes he had to trim at least a bit im sure. His lift is a bit different than normal lifts (as its a DB lift vs just coilovers) though. But general rule of thumb is the bigger the tire you go, the more trimming you will have to do.

As for me...i took half a day at work and spent most of the afternoon in the garage.

First up was a mounting setup for my Tred 1000's. (dont mind them looking crooked...they arent tightened down). I just need to find a spacer to fit over the bolt so i dont have to run the nut down 2" of threads

Then i finally did something Ive been meaning to do for awhile but just hadnt. I ripped out all the shit in the back of the cab that i had never used since i bought the truck. No more jumper seats, the subwoofer is gone, center console gone, storage compartment lids are gone, and the back wall was removed. I almost was going to take the sheet metal storage bins out but that would have been a ton of work and not really worth it one i looked things over in depth.

I forgot pictures of the removal. I did get some FatMax sound dampening material (which actually works decently well) and did the entire rear wall in that.

But made a nice platform and rear wall out 3/4" MDF. Carpeted it with cheap carpet. And added a USB charging outlet and 12V socket. The passengers side will eventually have a 12V fridge so i left it solid.

The drivers side i added a "hatch" to make it easier to get at the recovery gear. It looks messy but its actually not. Just the air hose and winch controls make it look messier than it is.

Overall....gained a ton of room in the back! No more having to stack crap on top of other crap.

I've been seriously considering doing this with my DCSB. Not in a permanent way, I'd like to be able to put the seats back in when I need to. But I can count on one hand the number of times I've had passengers in the rear.

Im not sure how it is on a DC but on the AC's everything is just bolted on except for the back panel. The back panel is held in by clips that break when you take it off. So i could put it back together....but i doubt ill store the stuff so itll end up being permanent lol.

Plus i know ill never have passengers in the back. it would be way to uncomfortable for them. Luckily i have a car that can or use my gf's car which has more passenger room.

I don't need the back panel. All I need is seats and storage. Not at the same time.
