Here's the finished product!

 

Could use chalk paint to paint them. I've read articles that say when you paint something with chalk paint that you don't have to do any prepping to what you are painting. I don't know how true this is because I've never used chalk paint to paint anything. Would be worth looking into though because it would save you hours of work from having to sand all that down.

 

Demo in my basement today good by ugly wall paneling Hello who the fuck drywalled this. There is a 38" peice in the center of the wall. It would be 23 sheets if I want to replace it so I'm not sure which way I want to go on this.

 

If the electric is good I would mud and paint and move on.

I would but I'm going to build in some storage into the walls so I have to reframe sections anyway. The only part they got right was which side of the panel faced out

 

Oh , then yank it all off so you can see what you've got in there , make it easy to move electrical and re frame and as an added bonus you can use your Festool drywall sander

 

Actually I've been putting this off due to the drywall dust aspect of it the planex will cut so much of that out and finally pushed me to do this. Plus the gf is in Morocco till the 20th so let's rip stuff out

 

Put up some poly , use a zipper door and get er done

I've never tried to use the zipper. And all my zip walls are on the job.

 

The zipper actually works pretty good

 

Picked these up this week too. So far I like them

 

To much on just one circuit in this space for my liking. And lights are getting changed. I also have very little of a plan so this should be fun.

 

Any signs of moisture on the block work ?

 

Nopeople and a vapor barrier too wow. Framing is all kinds of wrong though.

Yes plastic on the block side. I'm surprised to see it. House was built early 80so and this drywall was nailed and glued.

 

Well thats on the wrong side of the insulation anyway , a plastic vapour barrier should be on the warm side
