I had my stock Raptor around Hells Revenge no problem. I doubt just about any Taco would have issues if my big unit could get through there.

Thanks - although I am dissapointed today to confirm our MT sport upgrade packages don't have the E locker. The Mericans get it :blahblah:

Anyone have any suggestions on alternate financing options. Paying the interest rates toyota is asking for the 72 or 84 month finance option makes me sick. I used to work for the bank (not loan department) but remember seeing car loans coming in around 2.5%, can the dealers go through a bank instead for lower rates?

Yes, dealers can negotiate with other lenders. Mine did and got a lower rate than Toyota was offering. You can also negotiate yourself with a lender, then go into the dealer and tell them it's a all cash offer and ask for a discount. It really depends on your financial situation, Toyota will finance just about anyone who's breathing, so it's easier to get a loan through them, but not necessarily the best rate.

Mind me asking what type of rate you got? My credit is top notch so I will qualify anywhere I apply, I'm just not sure how to go about it. One dealer I contacted already on a 2015 model told me the best bank rate he could do was 4.99% which I found hard to believe.

2.99% over 60 months, and I thought that was high, but the best I could get at the time.

Thanks for providing that. Still a point better than toyota is offering. I was strongly considering seeing about getting a 2015 simply because of the finance rates. I don't mind paying a little more if its going towards the vehicle price itself, I just can't stand paying that kind of interest.

Now don't get me wrong here, I had a '13 limited and loved it. Best vehicle I have ever owned, and I've owned a lot! But here's the thing, for 1 or 2 percent over the course of 6 or 7 years, would that additional interest cost be offset by the higher value of your Gen 3 vehicle? Nobody has a crystal ball and argument can go in either direction, but let's say you hold it for the full 6 years and then trade it in or sell it privately, odds are your 2016 Gen 3 is going to be worth more money. Not knowing what you want in a vehicle either, my '16 LTD has tons of new accessories and comforts over my 2013 LTD. Sure it was more money, but for what you get, would have cost the same in '13 for the equivalent vehicle.

    My opinion only.

I'd prefer a 16, no doubt. And I definitely see your point. So the sales manager from my local dealership just emailed me back and confirmed best bank rate he can do is 4.99% over 60 months. No idea how you could get 2.99% for the same deal?

I bought mine back in November, so that might make a bit of a difference, but there are tons of factors that can make up the interest rate. We could discuss for hours, but a few points to make are that I've been dealing with the same bank and branch for 37 years, been at the same company for 25 years, and had a mortgage at the same bank for 32 years (bought and sold 3 houses moving more expensive all the time, so never paid off but close now). Those are just a few points that could affect a lower rate, but when I bought my '13, I used Toyota loan because their rate was better than the bank.
