Contacted the local machine shop via facebook. They told me that inspection, parts, and valve job will be $200. Seems like the way to go if this doesn't fix my problems.

I would just go straight to them for the valve job. Then they will verify all the parts make sure you are OK to use what you have. Just my opinion.

If you do have to go the machine shop route, Laramie Machine has done great work for us in the past.

I have to many. I found a 4runner with the same problem I am having. I'd be lying if I wasn't considering getting it once I complete my truck.

I have been riding the fat bike a lot lately. To the gym, campus, and just around for fun. I am not a huge bike nerd by any means but I am really enjoying romping around on this thing. The streets of Laramie are nothing to by proud of. When I road my road bike I was often weaving in and out of the street, sidewalk, and grass to avoid obstacles that could damage my wheels (I failed at this and now have a bent wheel on it). The fat bike though...so much fun. Curbs? No problem. Pot Holes? LOL. 20 ft of clear ice because someone neglects to take care of their sidewalk? Test me.

My gearing is not correct currently and that means suck fest on hills. My low gear is not low enough and I cannot adjust the deraileur to grabbed onto my super low gear I just put on. Additionally the brakes suck and I am pretty sure the rotor is warped. I may be replacing those pretty soon. Tomorrow I am going to try and drop the bike off at the LBS and see if they can get the gearing straightened out.

I forsee a nicer bike in my future :)
