I did the temp check test this morning before going somewhere and then did it again this afternoon after things cooled off and after I added some new ATF. It was about 2/3 of a quart low. The dealer had said they checked it at my 5000 mile Toyota care service.

    Thanks for your help.

I doubt they checked it at 5000 miles. It is not part of the 5K inspection

Yes it is. Additionally, I asked them specifically to check it.

Unless he is in Canada, they sometimes have different service bulletins than the US. But currently there is only an update on the 4cyl. The OP code that they list is for warranty billing. Its the operation code, which is for a/t fluid adjustment and pays 0.7 under warranty. Thats what all that means.

Thanks. This is BS with dealers telling customers there is an update when there isn't.

Is the update a TSB on the 4 cylinder out for all to see. Or is it fairly new.

I'm having some of the same issues as other members with my transmission, but these stealerships won't check the transmission fluid level. I've contacted two so far and one of them wouldn't check it because it's a "closed system" and the other one said to bring it in. Went to that stealership twice already and still haven't checked the fluid level. First time they said there was a bulletin and my ECM needed to be updated, but they had errors so they needed to contact Toyota. After supposedly having the resolution, they still didn't do shit for me the second time. Service writer said they checked the fluid level and it's good, but there's nothing mentioned on the work order so I call BS.

I brought up the license plate light housing issue and the BSM not available warning issue and they want to look into it those issues along with my transmission, but I doubt I'll be going back to them. All I want is my transmission fluid checked, but that's like pulling teeth with these stealerships.

I assume where their was a dipstick tube, theirs now probably a plug in the transmission housing. I was thinking if someone might want to try to look and possibly some how make a tube with a dipstick. Mr Gasket makes parts for custom hot roders to fabricate their own tubes, so to enable to check the transmission fluid. https://www.holley.com/search/?q=Transmission Dipstick, Braided Stainless

I worked as a mechanic for Toyota from 96-2008 and during the pre delivery check we never checked the transmission fluid. We would test drive but that was around the block if not less just to check bare minimum. Even if we did check the transmission fluid it wasn't warm enough. Most vehicle back then had dip sticks but these new ones without them unless we felt something we would never check the fluid was just to much time to rack it up and check. But I'm not the sure what the process is now.

This is exactly the excuse I expected, and the reason so many of us are having trans issues!

Just had this done. Tranny is shifting smoother but I wanted the tranny fluid checked too but they wouldn't do it. Giving me a bunch of excuses, advisor said they would charge me $130 but I didn't trust them to do it. Probably park my truck around back for a couple of hours then tell me it's normal. Will try another dealer another time.
