Stay away from the castle and the radio station and you won't have nearly as many missions I play like 140 of those, until I said enough

 

I wish there was a "nuts" target in VATS just so I could shoot Preston there.

 

I'm trying to get all the companion perks and when I tried to get Preston to travel with me by selecting to talk to him , I ended up with 3 more Minuteman radiant quests and still never got him to travel with me

 

Screw the companions, I pretty much stick to my main man, nick valentine

 

This just in , Nick Valentine is a companion

Sounds like Red Dead Redemption is going to be available for backwards compatible to Xbox One, me boy. Who's in?

and you have your memories I'm sure. Meanwhile I'll be hunting shit out near the railroad tracks on the Xbone and re-living good times

I went into Pickman's Gallery to get the bobblehead, and I was able to take down the painting on the 1st floor and take his stuff out without having the reward quest up, including the named knife.

However, once I went through and cleared the place, he approached me & I got the quest to go empty the already empty safe.


Then, for some unknown reason, as he was walking away, his brain detonated and shot bits of his skull and eyeballs and jawbone all over the room. I can't imagine why.

So I went back upstairs, which involved leaving via the back door exit and re-fast-travelling to the front door (one-way dropdown in the tunnels) and checking the safe again.

Still empty, but OPENING the empty safe completed the quest for me.

 

I found a Bar , like the ones you craft in settlements out in a field between Corvega and Starlight Theater

 

With people?

 

No people , just a bar out in the middle of nowhere , I'm going to go back and see if it's still there next time I'm playing

Leave the tall screen building at Starlight Theatre travelling on the road headed south towards Corvega , you'll cross the train tracks , pass a junk car and come up to a Nuka Cola sign just at the base of an overhead power line tower . The bar is at the base of the tower on the right

 

Nope, not for me. I found the place you refer to, but all I have is a some wispy scrub weeds on the towers' legs and a safe.
