Morning, All ! Date number two today with that awesome woman I mentioned earlier this week. Taking her to Rio. No, not THAT Rio... an area down in Gaithersburg, MD. Not nearly as exotic but much shorter trip.

Corny Joke Of The Day: What did the mayonnaise say when someone opened the fridge door ? Hey, close that door, I'm dressing!!

Have a great day, everyone !!

    Good Morning all!

Well, the dusting we were supposed to have yesterday turned into 10 inches of wet snow.
Now frozen solid with 19 degrees this morning. Supposed to go in the mid 30's today, so some of this junk will melt.
Maybe a coastal storm or 2 for next week. Yea!

Wow.....Slept in this morning! That just doesn't happen in my world! Wife woke me up to see if I was still alive! Watching 5 hot air ballons flying over the field next to the house. Pretty tight formation for ballons..... It's big time frosty here this morning. I bet the view from tha ballons is incredible!

Cold here in MD this morning too but should warm up to mid to upper 40s. Beautiful sunrise this morning, would have taken a pic but I was driving. Yeah, I'm a super-early riser... not a slcker like Bluegrass. Bwahahaha

A nice day.....The wife and I spent it together, doing "old married couple" stuff. We went grocery shopping, brought them home and put 'em up. Then we drove to Indiana to her favorite little restaurant for some pasta. Next, a ride through the state park in Charlestown Indiana. Sat by the Ohio river and watched a couple tow boats go by. Then home.

Thinking about a quick trip to Walmart to look at hand held CB radio's. I was told they have some deals. I'd like a couple for when we go camping. "Tent to tent radio"!

Autozone battery was ~ $120 and I've been happy with them. At least the 4x4's got zerks to grease. Pre-runners got zero, zilch, nada!!!  :annoyed:

I buy batteries labeled "The Usable". They're East Penn / Deka batteries with blemishes. Factory is not far from where I live. They're nothing special, last 5 years or so. But cheap. :anonymous:

Hope it went well! Good luck and have fun!

Because we work until you retire and can afford to move to Florida in the winter and back North in the summer. Until you drive it enough years that you realize that when you get half way back North that you should become a Half Back. North Carolina is the perfect place, halfway in between. Unless you have lots of money then you spend Winters in Fl. and Summer in Western NC\Eastern Tn. Just saying...

LOL at the Engineer that "designed" it. Ran into one after I retired from the Navy, he designed the Ignorant Ingersoll Rand 200 cfm W two stage air compressor that we had to pull the whole 2 tons from the deck plates to rebuild the bronze bushings that always wore out in the back access panel. I was on a sales call as pre-engineering support when I met him and had to just smile while I gritted my teeth... I hear you!

Have had all the batteries mentioned over the years and my truck is only 2 years old and have gone through 2 OEM batteries so far. Gets cold here and that is hell on batteries. I'm about ready to go back to Interstate the next time she doesn't start. Being in the middle of nowhere hunting in the winter and not having cell phone or radio reception is not a healthy situation to be in. I should also invest in one of those solid state battery jump packs.

Hope I can get back on sleep schedule by Monday and also start to hit on all cylinders.

Good Morning all, I've been absent for a bit I hope everyone is doing well. I thought I was just about over this "cold" but it looks like it only retreated a bit.
Bluegrass I saw your post about moving a pool table, I hope you got out of it! I moved one a few years ago and never again! Down two flights of stairs, worst thing I ever did.
Well y'all take care and please be safe today.

    Morning, All !

Thank you, Mike and Susan. Date 2 went even better than the first. :) Mike, you think it's because she's from your neck of the woods ? They grow them sweet, smart and well-grounded up there ? She's from a small town in Illinois but spent most of her live outside of Milwaukee.

Super Bowl Sunday. Hope everyone enjoys the game or at least a party and laughing at the commercials if that's your thing.

Corny Joke Of The Day: Why was the stadium so hot after the game ? Because all the fans were gone. (how many of you got that one before you read the punch line?)

Have a great day, everyone !!

We have over 90 golf carts/work carts here at work. We average over $20,000 in new battery purchases every year. So I get "free samples" from a number of vendors. I haven't paid for a battery in 26 years. Go ahead....Call me spoiled!

I went shopping for a hand held CB radio yesterday. Stores don't stock things anymore......Gotta order on line. I like to put my hands on something before I buy it. Oh well. Trying to garner enthusiasm for them with a group we off road with. Great for spotters.....

Up @ 0400 this morning, out the door by 0500, and already been @ work 2 hours. Gonna call it a day and go home in a bit. May watch some of the Super Bowl later on just to see if "Old Man" Peyton can pull this off for all us old timers! Beyond that....Too much hype for me.

May go out to an off road park near home this afternoon to play around a bit. It's only 200 acres, worn out, rutted out, and jammed full of ATV's most of the time, but what the hell....

Or....I may just do nothing at all!

At any rate. Hope y'all have a wonderful Sunday!
