Some of the greatest memories I have in life are those involving the first few dates with my wife. We were both coming off bad relationships, had no intentions of getting in another one, and expected NOTHING from each other. It was a blind date that we went on just to get the person who introduced us off our backs.

We knew 10 minutes after we met there was something special happening.

We knew 2 weeks later we would eventually get married.

I little junkie... making my Hot Rice Casserole, brewing some fresh iced tea, and putting together a tray of extra sharp cheddar, summer sausage and assorted crackers.

    Same as everybody else...
I'm in the planning stages of replacing my crap "Geostranders" tires and I'm looking for advice and opinions. I've narrowed my search to the following, in no particular order...BFG Rugged Terrains, Firestone Destination AT's and General Grabber AT's. I've heard that the BFG's are nice but get very loud after about 20k. I have Firestone Destinations on my wife's SUV and they are great tires, no complaints. The Grabbers are "LT" and maybe a little more tire than I need, I also hear their heavy. Does anyone have any "real world" experience with these tires? I only drive about 10k a year so I'm stuck with whatever decision I make for a long time. I drive mostly highway but do very often travel dirt or gravel roads, no heavy off roading but my fair share of mud and of course snow.

:pccoffee: Good morning 50's. Another cloudy, dreary day here in VB. :( Cabin fever launching in 3...2...1... :annoyed: I know I should appreciate every day, but damn this weather gets me down. I need a change.

That is TOTALLY awesome, Bluegrass. I've never experienced such absoluteness in a relationship so quickly. I won't say I feel this way about this woman after two dates. But only because I don't want to jinx myself. ;)

Brace for the cold. Couple inches of snow Tuesday and then some frigid Canadian air (damn them) as the jet stream plunges down to the deep south. Next weekend, our HIGH temps are to be 26.

She told her sister (who introduced us) the very next day that she was "going to marry this guy"....so you may be right.

When I bought my Tacoma, it had a brand new set of Geolanders on it. I actually liked 'em.....But they were off the truck before I had 10,000 miles on 'em. We had a 14" snow that winter. They did OK, but then again, they were still new. I never drove with 'em in mud. I have a feeling my opinion might have been altered a bit if that were the case.

Where is the "dislike" button?! I don't think it's supposed to be quite as bad here as up by you, but, yeah, I saw the forecast. Just annoying and turning me into a grumpy old man too soon. A little annoyed with the family too, probably more so because of the weather getting me down too. Maybe I'm going through my change, lol.

I can't imagine how you handle it Jim. We have friends who live in Port Huron, MI. Beautiful in the summer, but no way would I live there in the winter.

My father in law used to live in Minot North Dakota. We would drive up for Thanksgiving every fall. Left there the day after thanksgiving one year and drove on 2" sheet of solid ice all the way to Fargo. The wife and 2 kids didn't say a word the entire way. I'm not sure I even drew a breath. They had like 4 months of decent weather every year.

We get a couple months in the middle of summer where you can depend on highs in the mid 90's and up. But it's the Ohio Valley humidity that makes it miserable. The Louisville area is known as the allergy capital of the world. That's why I like spring and fall more than summer or winter......

Good Luck with round two of winter. The weather guessers are predicting a dusting to 1" for Southern Maryland. That means well probably get hammered.
