My left knee has been feeling weird lately. Kind of the same feeling, from what you described. It comes and goes. I've just been pushing through it (probably not the best idea, but, gainz, man.)

I fucked my left knee up twice wakeboardjng and once in baseball, so it's just something I've lived with for a long time. But it's been worse lately.

Tight as in tough to bend, like the front of your leg hurts near/under the knee?

I injured my right knee pretty bad when I was 15-16. About 5 yrs ago I couldn't bend it at all without white hot pain. Bursitis, doctor said he'd not seen a worse case. I almost passed out in the office from the pain. They found no cartilege in the knee on X-rays.

With your history I suspect you may have reduced cartilege. I know cold weather isn't the issue where you are that I deal with but it kicks my ass. Try maybe Osteo Bi-flex or something similar with glucosamine at least in the colder months..helps mine.

Just under the knee. Tight to bend, sometimes an ache when it's straightened. It's a different pain than I've felt before.

Bursitis/arthritis could be the culprit. I had bursitis in my shoulder in high school. Missed a couple baseball games, then took enough meds to kill a horse so I could play. Couldn't lift my arm to put my shirt on or brush my teeth. That shit sucked.

Yup that's exactly what mine did. Got so bad it wouldn't bend at all for 6-8 weeks. Ended up with a heavy brace and crutches..couldn't sleep in bed or wear sneakers either.

One of the reasons I lost the weight I was carrying. Hit up the ibuprofen and give it a couple days, and def go the glucosamine. Here it's so cold I need all the help I can get.

Pre workout poop was interrupted today. Apparently I forgot to lock the door. It was flung open and the guy was mid step when he saw me. All I could say was hi. This is going to be an awkward workout sesh

I struggled with a similar feeling for years. Generally it only bugged me with light pressure. Things such as depressing my clutch or walking up stairs was hard. On the worst days I couldn't walk up stairs without pain and often needed breaks to finish.

This started in Afghanistan and I was abusing the VA to figure it out. I had a ton of scans done, spoke to several physical therapists, doctors, etc.

Well I explained it to my boss last summer. He experienced the same pain after running a marathon and then completing a hard archery bull elk hunt.

He gave me a gnarly foam roller and swore it would solve the problem. After a month of using it I haven't had a problem since. I bought my own and use it once or twice a week. Usually after leg day and feel great. Worth a try for the price of those things.

I really want sleeves. Do these help that much? I dont squat heavy anymore but I am starting to feel my age more and more.

Zach, Derrick- are you guys toe setting during your squats and deadlifts? Helps stabilize the leg and reduces risk for injury. Also, I would personally toss in an extra warm up set and more stretching before your lifts too.
Knee sleeves or wraps are your friend with lifting heavy.
The osteo-biflex or similar product and fish oil make a world of difference for my joints.

Good leg day today for myself. I'm curious as to what kinda volume you guys move on a typical leg day.

I think it's some kind of strain. I didn't really warm up well and I did a set with my feet super close together, so it could be one of those things. I went rabbit hunting yesterday and it was killing me (we walked about 5-6 miles). It only hurts when there's weight on it, but it's not as bad today as it was yesterday. Never thought I'd need knee supports. I thought I was invincible :pout:

If I remember correctly, these are my numbers from Friday's leg day:

    squats: 135x10, 225x10, 315x6, 225x8, 135x15
    straight leg deadlifts: 3 sets of 15 @ 185
    barbell lunges: 2 sets of 10 @ 135
    leg curls: 2 sets of 10, 8 @ 50 lbs per leg
leg press: (2 sets legs low, 2 sets legs high): 10-15 @ 400 lbs
seated calve raises: 3 sets of 25-30 @ 50 lbs
leg press calve raises: 3 sets of 25-30 @ 400 lbs
