I don't see any point in tricking out the Tacoma especially for your uses. Spending 6k to off road your truck on light trails and sand seems very excessive. If your contemplating on selling the Ford that may mean that you don't really want/need it. I would just pocket the money and modify the Tacoma depending on your needs. For instance, if you frequently take camping trips then you can purchase a soft topper. Maybe you decide to take your Tacoma through rocky trails, then you can get body armor. A lift to drive your truck to the mall while decreasing your fuel economy is a waste of money; however, a nice stereo system that you can enjoy every day to work/play is a good and useful modification.

Alright, based on your rules I'm compromised because I'm new to the 4x4/modding thing, but from "personal experience" I can say that people who like to collect beautiful things keep them, unless they can obtain something more beautiful by selling, while people in business must do the math and justify the result. No right answer.

But, I still remember my dad's '77 Thunderbird, and '79 Bronco. I recommend that you never sell something beautiful, unless you can find it again.

If you are going to retore a truck, or even build it, do it right. Get new parts or make custom ones and paint it.

Plasti dip on a classic truck?
    Please don't.

I'd keep the Ford, won't find a truck that clean and one you know the in's and out's of should you let it go.

Keep the Ford for actual woods and real truck duty and plaything.

Sell the Taco and replace with a more economical appliance. Lots of stuff out there that rides and handles better while getting way more MPG.

Hows that for a different POV. :D

I would keep the old Ford. It is in better shape than most you are going to find if you ever decide you want another one like it.

My life's biggest regret is letting go of my '78 Bronco. It's hard to find a good one that's not very overpriced these days. I would keep the Ford.

Updated pics of ford! Looking beast! And I got things squared away to keep the ford for now and still lift the taco. Going 16x9 XD Addict wheels, pro comp pro runner 2.25 in adjustable front strut, 1.5 in rear aal, and 265/75/16 bfg ko2s.! Going to see how it performs to determine if I need uca! Stoked!!!

Another vote to keep the ford (good looking truck by the way). Use it for any off road duties and don't mess with your daily driver.

Keep the ford. My dad had a 78. We had lots of fun in that truck.

i believe if you sell the ford you would regret it later.
