Thanks Everyone, after reading all this I may just stick with what I got.

I do like the emblem options out there, especially Model T. @hemitruk has taken it to the next level by bravely cutting in to the grill instead of just sticking something on top of the grill. That's the best example I've seen yet. I have debadged and dechromed, BHLM, BTLM and black wheels. So I'm not sure this is the option for me but it looks legit. Thanks again!

You are already living in HAWAII! The people in the US mainland and around the world are dreaming about vacationing in your neck of the volcanic ashes so why worry about such a small appearance? Plus..., you've got what it takes from getting a few bugs/ flying pebbles from hitting your radiator so I'd be happy if I were you.

I went with the stealth lights behind the grill. I may or may not ads the TOYOTA badge off the fj and spray it black.

My opinion: its simple and clean. I don't normally go for cosmetic changes, since they don't add any utility, but if I *were* to, or if my factory grill got broken for any reason, I'd probably aim to get as close to what you have there as possible.

In contrast to what others have suggested, I would NOT add any "toyota" or "tacoma" logo into it. Think about it like this; you paid for the truck, it is yours. Why would you want to take time, effort, and money to add THEIR advertising to YOUR truck? Because that is what a logo is -- advertising.

I don't think of it as only cosmetic when lights are behind it. My thinking is it protects them a little from theft and is one less thing hanging on the front of the truck to get busted off.

Anyway, I love the clean look. Take the rest of the badges off and it would look great IMO.

I don't view the lights as being part of the grill. They just happen to be mounted behind it. You could put lights behind the factory grill too.

Yeah, you need to add the Toyota letters...

True. But the mesh grill makes it easier to mount the big lights. I would love to have a bar up front with KC lights but I'm afraid I would bash them off somehow.

I see this posted quite often whether it comes to the bed decals or door/tailgate badges or whatever else. Is it advertising? Sure. But you don't see me going and cutting all the logos off my clothes or taping over the restaurant logo on my disposable fast food cup.

In my mind I don't think even a grill sized "TACOMA" lettering is going to cause some knucklehead to go out and buy a brand spanking new Tacoma at the drop of a dime.

While we talk about too much rice, I ordered fried rice last night, couldn't finish it, am eating it now, and doubt I'll finish it... And it's ONE order.... That's too much rice! (Bastards forgot the hot sauce)

Which size T is this? I'm still on the fence about buying one and don't really know which size I would get if I did.
