I lost track thousands of dollars ago.

We could definitely build that for you shipping would be high for sure! Worst case is we can design cut notch and bend the tubes and you have a local welder weld them up to save on shipping.

4130 would a waste of money IMO as the rack not going to provide protection in a roll over anyway being lower then the passengers. I would go with the standard 1.75x.120 wall HREW that everyone uses.

I started building my bed rack today. Got a question for ya'll, how are you bolting the racks to the bedrail system? Can you post pictures of the bolts you're using or link to a thread that talks about this topic. Thanks in advance. I did bolt it in with the bolts facing inward but had to cut the bolts off one side to remove the rack (I welded the crossbars on after bolting the side brackets in to hold them in place temporary, working by myself). It's no where near done yet.

All painted and mounted to the truck. I'll add the Offroad lights and red l.e.d. marker/ brake lights later. 20160220_155722.jpg20160220_155742.jpg 20160220_155757.jpg

I built this one for a customer. It mounts to the cab floor. We kept it pretty simple

    Where and how man?!!!
    I'm local to HB.
Would it work with a tonneau (less the diagonal tubes)?

My buddy's fab shop made it, they're in Anaheim.

Not sure if you could get it to work with a tonneau, but they might be willing to take a look and see what they could do.

Thanks, I'll probably remove the toolbox and put my gear in a toolbox that goes in between the wheelwells and will fit under the rack. I want to fabricate a box on the underside of this rack that I just built. Just need to take measurements, find some time and good weather to fabricate it.

I used just under 10ft of 1.5" 1/8" thick square tubing, around 4ft of 2" 3/16" thick angle steel and some small 1/8" plate to cap off the ends of the crossbars. I used all scrap steel I had laying around that used to be powder coated but was old and rusty so I spent more time grinding and sanding than actual fabrication. Two cans of dark grey primer and three cans of gloss black paint, had them laying around from other projects.
