Got news for you...I have a '16 TRD Off Road, 4x4 Double Cab and the vibration is still there. I have been going round and round with my dealer, and even Toyota customer relations. My dealer says this is "normal" according to Toyota, therefore Toyota won't send a tech to examine my truck, and Toyota sent me an email confirming same. "Normal and within specs" they say.

Its double cab. You might want to get a roadforce tire balance at ur tire store. It could be the tires.

How bad does it bug you? If it is annoying, and you want it fixed, you may want to file for lemon law and lawyer up. It's a problem, they cannot fix it, and they owe either a solution or a refund.

OMG, no way! I never thought of that! Sorry for the smartassed reply, but it's an irritating issue, and the simple causes/fixes have been considered, yet this seems to be a standard type reply. But thanks for playing.

It bugs the everliving sh*t out of me. It's a new vehicle and shouldn't vibrate like this. I have lawyered up...I am one. I do not do lemon law claims, but not sure this would rise to that level, though I've thought about looking in to it.

Toyota is seemingly doing this with every issue. They told us with the howl it was a normal characteristic of the truck. In a way they are right. The holes in the LCA were the cause. Just needed to plug a few of them.

One thing I never expect from Toyota is "they all do it" which says in one line "We KNOW there is an issue and we are not going to do anything about it"

Seems we have to become "engineers" on the 2016 and solve our own issue then bring the fix into the dealer who passes it off to Toyota. Crazy....and not the Toyota I have been purchasing from for years.

That is one of the reasons we bought the CRV and not another RAV 4 for the wife. The 12 RAV was burning a quart between oil changes, (Considered normal) We dumped it and got the CRV,

IF they continue avoiding issues, I will take a serious look at the Ridgeline. I could get used to an SUV ride in a vehicle with a bed. At least Honda allows the purchase of heavily discounted Vehicle Service Contracts across state lines. Saccucci Honda sells them.

I believe that those saying they have no vibration are telling you its NOT normal. I have an 11, a 13, and currently a 14. None have had vibration. All dcsb sport 4x4. Not trying to be a wiseass.

I apologized for my smartassness. It's a very irritating problem, and irritating that I'm being told "sorry bout your new truck having a long standing issue we can't correct, but it's within spec, so we're not going to try further".

.280 rocks. .260 would be ok in a light mtn. rifle type deal, but I'm probably going to opt for one in .257 Roberts AI instead.

I know, it's not across the board on all, but it's been a common complaint for years. Moreover, as you note, it's not in every unit. Making that much more difficult to remedy. I am far from an engineer, but my armchair engineering, combined with what I've read online, and heard from talking to auto techs familiar with it say it's got to do with angles in the drive shaft, which is an unusal 2 piece design. My take is the engineers designed it, and the angles are at critical tolerances such that when manufacturing tolerances are factored in, some vibrate, and some don't. Just a little play here, or a slight variation there, and you get the vibration. Just my take.

Check out the 2 threads in my sig.
I decided to be proactive about it and hit the low-hanging fruit.

I have been wheeling my truck in snow, dirt, mud, rocks, over axle water crossings, and no vibrations have occurred. There is a shaking when the Traction Control kicks in but that's it

I am not at liberty to say exactly how I managed to get Toyota to fix my vibration, but they did. NOT the dealership, but Toyota. How they fixed it was installed new leafs and caster wedges in the rear. Solved about 90% of the slow speed vibration and 100% of the highway speed vibration.

    I hear you...

I have a 2016 DCLB OR 4x4 with JBL on order...

to be built in the beginning of April in Mexico and show up in Ohio by the end of April...

Hopefully it will be a GREAT TOYOTA truck to service our family for years and years...

If it is as bad as some of the stuff I'm reading it will be traded in on a Ridgeline within 12 months and 12,000 miles...

I know Honda knows how to fill their own trannies and diffs on the assembly line...

Betting $39,000.00+ Toyoda can build a Gen 2.5 truck correctly after 6 months practice...

    We shall see...

Mike Sweers said they had addressed these issues on numerous occasions!!!
