We put a set of Michelins on my wife's first Jeep Cherokee back in the 1980's. They were on the car when we traded it in at 125K miles. I don't know what Michelin does to make them last that long but I can believe witchcraft is involved! :) I recall that those tires were rock-hard at that advanced stage of their lives, pretty useless on wet pavement.

Good morning, hoped everyone survived the weekend OK. I'm with Cam Bluegrass I hope you get a nappy in but at the office that just doesn't ever seem to happen. The older I get the more I appreciate them :anonymous:. It is 11 here this morning snowing with 20 mph winds. Looks like this is going to be about the high for the week lots of below zero temps in the forecast. Happy Monday!

OK...Temps dropped. Rain is now puffy white stuff. Entire staff is whining about going home. If it were entirely up to me, I'd send 'em home.

    Still grumpy.

    Having computer issues.

    Maybe I should go home.

Supposed to get 4-8 inches of snow tonight and tomorrow. After getting nearly 40 inches a couple weeks ago, this will seem like a dusting.

We had rain this morning. That turned to snow. There was about 1/2" of accumulation. Then it quit, warmed up to 36 and melted. Then temps dropped to 27 degrees and we got a sleet storm. Now the sun is out. Temps in the teens tonight, single digit wind chill. Temps for the next 2 weeks in the 20's and down.....

When I got home, there was a big box on the porch from Headstrong Offroad. New Bilstien 5100's, 885 OME coils, struts assembled. Dever 2" AAL's, and 1/4" spacer for drivers side "lean". I'm headed out to the garage to clear enough room to get the truck inside. Also gonna make certain I have enough firewood to keep the wood stove stoked for a day's work. May take a day off work to get this done!

Now about that no heavy lifting thing.... :D Be careful!

Single digits here and winds more than 20 mph gusting much higher. Single digits above and below zero for the next week then warms up to the 30's. Just in time for the Ice Festival and Social in town late next week LOL. I do like to get downtown and watch the carvers cut huge ice blocks with chainsaws and hope I can get out for a few in progress next week. Then on the weekend have a couple hot toddies at an ice bar sitting on an ice bench, it isn't as bad when it is 30 above instead of 30 below.

I'm gradually starting to get back in the swing of things. I can lift weight as long as it isn't a ton, and I go about it slowly. The heaviest single part will be an assembled strut, which is about 26 lbs. And I will have a helper. An 18 year old kid down the street bought a 2006 ACLB and is always willing to help me in trade for me doing some work on his truck. He's a phone call away!

I didn't get into too much ummmmm... mischief... when I was a kid. Maybe the worse thing I did was steal bricks. Me and my buddies were typical teenagers with a driver's license. We'd cruise around Gettysburg on Friday nights, hoping to hook up with some girls. That rarely happened. But one Friday early in our junior year of high school, we noticed one of the hotels on the outskirts of town had a loose brick on the corner. So we removed it, of course. Shit, the brick next to it was now loose. Well, we made it our mission to take one brick from the corner of that one-story hotel every Friday night. By the time we graduated from high school, the entire corner of that hotel was gone.

I grew up on a farm with a father that made Bobby Knight look like Mother Theresa. I went to a Catholic High School, played sports and in general, lived under rule after rule after rule.....So when I had the opportunity to bust loose and raise hell, I set new standards for hell raisin'.....

I won't tell everything I did, because the statute of limitations may not be expired on everything just yet! LOL!

In High School we had a real asshole sociology teacher who was also a PE teacher 3 days who drove a 1969 VW Bug jacked it up put on blocks took rims and tires off and sent them to the school UPS Attention Mr Paul "ASSHOLE" Davis.......I heard that the words that came out of his mouth were priceless from a few of the students that happened to be in the room when he opened the boxes to find his rims/tires.

Some of the stuff we did back then would warrant having Homeland Security call on us if we were to have done them in todays world!

The worst that happened then was we got whooped with "Mr Murphy's board of education".

    :jellydance: for garage
    :jellydance: for woodstove in garage
:jellydance: for OME stuff. I think I'm missing the part about the rear springs...

    AY-MEN!

We had a German teacher who drove a VW Bug. Some people put it in the quadrangle. And then on the roof of the school. :anonymous:

As for the remainder of my teenage years...

...let's just say it was the late 1960's and leave it at that.

We used to keep our shotguns and/or rifles in our pickups on school grounds during hunting season.....And the school had a rifle team.

Railroad tracks were always good for game, everything from pheasants to rabbits and even varmints like woodchucks. Those glass telegraph insulators on the poles? Back in the day a kid with a 22 could get good at shooting the wooden posts off they sat on and catching the glass insulators before they hit the ground and sell them for a couple of bucks each. Or so I have heard.....
