That is the prediction but your source is 6 months old (dated 7/27/2015) so its reliability is little less.

No surprise. The 4.0 has been getting phased out.

Seeing all the complaints on the new taco I'm surprised they're going this direction.

The 2017 4runner should also get the 2tr-fe 4 cylinder option.

*Useless in the US because of US emissions standards. The rest of the world loves them and agrees they are very useful.

As long as its front end isn't as horrendous as the new tacoma's. Me and my GF were looking at buying her one next year but may need to get a last 16 if thats the case.

I might just wait for the 2018 Wrangler; it will have an ecodiesel.

I think you'd be surprised at how much the real world (i.e. not Tacomaworld) likes the engine.

You're right, it does not offset here in the US. It clearly does in many other countries that don't have retarded laws. Did someone roll coal in your cheerios this morning?

The only Toyota rig that you can get a 2TR-FE four-banger with a 4x4 is a Tacoma access cab.

Not true.... and its proven that Diesels save money... lots of money.. in fact there is a actual study done by actual scientists to prove that... Go figure...

That does not change a fact that there is a study that says Diesels have lower TCO..... So .... ?
