Hi, anyone driven both on-road? Any difference in ride or handling or "feel"?

    Thanks!

Test drove the TRD Offroad, too bad its not available in a double cab. I bought the Sport (love it). Offroad feels more maneuverable, very similar though. Handling in both is great, compared to a Frontier, turning radius is AMAZING in both.

Sport is stiffer, you'll feel more bumps in the road and more bounce from my test drive experience but better handling on pavement through turns and such...the sport comes with Hitachi Shocks which are inferior to the Bilsteins overall in my opinion. I bought the off road because I like a smoother/softer ride and I do a decent amount of off pavement and off road driving for hunting, camping, hiking, etc and I want the bilstein off road tuned suspension which is more forgiving for this type of driving. Also the only other added benefit of the Sport is the...wait for it.....fake hood scoop? I guess if that cosmetic "appeal" is there for you, the Sport is a good choice. However you get a ton more capability in the TRD Off Road (rear locker, MTS, Crawl Control, better suspension, superior braking system) for pennies on the dollar compared to the Sport.

I test drove both, and felt the sport was a slightly worse drive than the OR. The OR soaked up the bumps, train tracks, and other road issues with ease. I didn't notice too much difference in the turns, but I drive pretty slow around corners. I ultimately went with the OR and placed my order.

I'm coming from a crew cab F150 that has significant body roll. The Tacoma was very comfortable for me. YMMV.

OR DC are pretty common, available in either short or long bed.

Some states don't offer the TRD OR DC LB with Tech or JBL or in certain colors. It's mind boggling. I had to go out of state and informed my local dealer of why.

Wait, are ya'll buying the OR because it rides better on the road just like most the raptor owners are doing and not actually using the truck for its capability? :smack::facepalm:

I doubt it, OP asked for "on-road" differences.

They are not common in Canada. Super rare. You won't see any in Canada unless they are imports. The only package you can get an OR in is access cab.

You can't get a DCSB OR and I'm not sure if you can get a 2016 DCLB OR either.
