what sht? think everyone is speculating that it will likely have same suspension as 2nd gen trd pro but curious as to whether it will have crawl control, rear dif lock, etc. since it has a sport hood, will it have black fender flares, etc? and will toyota do anything unique with the interior, up until now the pros only get some stitching, floor mats and a gear shifter.

Finally, a third gen with a 4th gen face lift. That was a much needed nose job.

I've been watching this forum since before the 2016's came out, planning on buying a 2017. I'll be going to the Chicago auto show next Friday just to see what I can find out about the 2017 Tacomas. I was afraid they'd just have the regular 2016 there.

I know this will never happen but I wish Toyota would include an engine modification/enhancement with the TRD Pro models. Example with the Gen 2 Tacoma TRD Pro, why couldn't Toyota just drop the FJ 4.0 with the dual VVT-i, even at 260hp and 270ish lbs/ft/torque it would help distinguish and justify (at least to me) the $4k price difference over the TRD OR models.

There's already a prius motor in the 3rd gen. It's called Atkinson Cycle

X2 on more options on the M/T. I don't need a 4X4 but have no choice because it only comes with the 4X4's. TRD OR DCSB 4X2 with M/T would have been my choice.

They should totally put a front locker in it. I doubt they will, but it would be nice

This will be a 2016 late variation release. 2016.5 at most. It's Feb, we probably won't even see 2017 sneak peeks until summer.

I'd probably get a hybrid TRD if offered.

Hybrid Toyota Racing Development. Isn't that kind of an oxymoron?

Having test driven both the sport(with the hood scoop) and the off-road (without the hood scoop), I can say the advantages without the hood scoop outweigh any aesthetic benefits. I am just assuming the pro comes with it. The hood scoop obscures what little view you have out of the windshield. But if it had a purpose that improved the overall performance, I might reconsider...

All I know is that when I test drove the Highlander Hybrid, i almost threw up. The only advantage IMO is the gas mileage but if your buying a truck, lets be real, your not super concerned with gas mileage
