TRD Pro also includes factory howling wind noise and delayed launches with cold auto transmissions.

I'm sure others are thinking the same, but who knows how long until this is released to the public and when the grill will be available through parts. Will they follow the old ways of needing your vin to purchase? They may be stingy with the purchase of this grill as the new model is rolled out.

I think JLee's grill looks better, and I like the fact that it's custom! But to each there own.

Didn't mean it in a bad way. I like the BAMF grill that best of all current grills. The only thing that kept me from ordering is the exposed fasteners used to secure the grill. It reminds me too much of RBP grills and such it was a deal killer for me.

I would like to keep a more factory look with mine, but hate the OR grill!. Of course I haven't seen the BAMF on a truck yet so, it may change my mind! Also, we don't really know what the Pro grill will look like just yet, damn teaser pictures aren't enough!

It will be interesting to see if the trd pro will be offered in DCLB since they did that with the trd off road.

Then again...it is more intended for off road use so i doubt it.

With the limited supply of TRD OR packages at dealers, I would say this "update" is just going to be some added stuff to the current model, a 2016.5 as someone mentioned earlier. I would be very surprised to see any major changes to the 2016 Tacoma.

Unless the 2016 release was a "soft launch" to gauge interest with no real intention of spooling up production until the 2017 model year comes out?

Might explain my dealer's difficulty in getting the TRD OR as well if it's going to change significantly.

Heres hoping they make a TRD pro out of an access cab manual.

Now that is one good looking taco with one hell of a front grill. Awesome. I would pay 50000 for that

Toyota said the Tacoma TRD Pro model would get debuted in winter 2016 as a 2017 model when the 2016 Tacoma was debuted... so this is undoubtedly the Tacoma TRD Pro model...
Now, features (on top of the TRD OR model) that would get me to consider this model over a TRD OR (which I'm currently considering) to justify the price jump would be
    1) TRD Pro exclusive colors only (Cement Gray (which the spy shot looks to be), Amazon Green Metallic, Sonora Gold Pearl). I never understood why Toyota released the Pro model with some of the same color options as the less expensive models. It's not hard to pick or apply a unique color. Give some value here to the customer who is supposedly buying a "limited production model"...
    2) A Front locker & KDSS (I mean, lets be realistic and add some offroad functionality to this thing since that's what you're marketing it as)
    3) Unique front and rear bumpers that increase approach and departure angles (plastic is fine, just less of it than other models). Once again this adds value to the offroad customer which this truck is suppose to appeal to... (even the Jeeps do this with their Rubicon model). Add a winch ready front frame support/ shelf behind the front plastic bumper cover as well. (not the winch, just the mounting plate.)
    4) A bilstein 6112 or OME suspension at a minimum that actually provides additional lift (which will also help with approach or departure angles
    5) lightweight (forged wheels) with a larger tire (for more ground clearance), both offroad benefits (lighter wheels make up for the larger (and heavier tire)
    6) Running boards that are also functional sliders (bolt these to the frame as an option/ accessory, don't care)
7)A Turbo 3.5L engine (OR the same tune that's in the new RX350 F sport)
    8) scrap the sunroof on the Pro model (sunroofs tend to break when getting bounced around a lot offroad anyway)
    9) A roll down rear cab window

even half of this would get me to consider this model at it's current price point.

I want less show and more go for the same price as the previous TRD Pro model.
