2016 off road vs other models

hey guys
so I own the 2016 off road model. I don't love the way it drives. I am selling it, I am wondering how the other 2016's ride?

2016 Limited drives great, sounds like you just didn't spend enough!

 

The offroad has the better shocks and I would assume rides the best of all of them?

What specifically don't you like about it?

 

Sports dont lean side to side and ride smooth

 

The offroad has Bilsteen shocks made for offroading which are way too stiff for normal onroad. They most assuredly does not ride the best, which is one reason I didn't consider OR.

 

Yep, my Sport rides like it was the offspring of a Lexus and a BMW but one of them had a big, bad truck somewhere back in the family tree.

 

Sounds like you need to buy a Cadillac...

 

My 2016 Sport rides better on highways than my 2013 SR5 ever did. I did not get the off-road because I've always known the shocks/springs make them ride stiff/rough on highways. However, some people on TW swear that the off-road shocks/springs ride smoother....so I don't know what to believe anymore. I can only speak for the sport, and I love the way it rides.

 

The Off Road ride is pretty plush imo. Soaks up bumps and still has less body roll than the 13 Ram 1500 I had that had a rear Hellwig swaybar

 

Get the DCLB TRD Offroad

 

Its a truck.....

 

That's what test drives are for. Drive more then one model.

 

My Sport feels as smooth as a uni body.....

 

Huh my '16 TRD off road Double Cab MT drives like an absolute dream compared to my '15 TRD sport double cab MT.

 

What PSi are you running cold?

I drove at 32psi cold for a few days and the ride was noticeably softer. Which is expected.

When I went back up to 35psi cold (per Toyota's manual) it gives you a bit bumpier ride.

As for handling, I've thrown my DCLBOR in some twisty canyons, I can say it handles them really well for a truck.

Also, any other 16' Taco's are gonna have larger wheels and smaller tire profiles.. this always equates to bumpier rides. Not to mention the shocks are different too.

 

So you didn't test drive the vehicle before you you purchased it?

 

i didn't test drive mines. lol. I seen the white dclb 4x4 and I wanted it. signed the paper work and drove it home haha

 

More specifics please? What don't you like/love about the way it drives? Is there a certain characteristic on it's handling or something you can pinpoint? You bought a 4x4 Off-road Truck. I'd imagine it drives like one.

 

Raise your PSI. My 15 Sport felt like crap when I ran the suggested PSI. It makes that much of a difference.
