Looking to put some yellow fogs into my new TRD OR. I would rather go bulbs than just using a film over the lens.

Yeah - this is basically just for looks - although, I live in Wisconsin so I guess I can pretend like I'm interested in having better fog light performance in nasty weather as I crawl my way over some badass curbs and snow banks after hours in the work parking lot ;)

I haven't seen any info yet on what type of bulbs are needed for the 3rd gens or if it's the same as the late model 2nd gens which I think are H11s? There's a lot of info in those forums but I couldn't find any in here.

    Thanks in advance!

If I remember correctly the fog lights in the 3rd Gens are the same as those on the 2012-2015 2nd Gens

If I understand correctly the H-16's are on the limited and the rest use the H-11's.

I tried to put H11's in mine and I could not get the bulbs in... I guess I got the H16's in my truck, but they don't say on the freakin' bulbs. They look identical, but I could not get the H11 in there..... TRD Sport 4X4... Guess I'll get some H16's and try that

Sweet! Which 3rd Gen model do you have? That's interesting that for over60 the H11s didn't fit his TRD Sport.... I've got the TRD OR

What was it that prevented them from going in? If they're H11's they are supposed to fit. Others have reported installing them. I'd like to know before I swap mine.

I ran similar bulbs in another vehicle, they're yellowish, if you want a more defined yellow color you might want to consider a 3k HID kit. Otherwise the halogens will work just fine and be a quick and easy drop in.

I put H11s in no issues on my sport. I think the H16 is a shorter bulb with a wider angle beam. Funny the OP is just going for looks when amber is the best color of light in fog.

Yeah I just think it looks cool. I like amber as well, though. Are there any amber fogs for the 3rd Gen TRD OR?

I thought VLED's or Morimoto had the yellow sleeve option for their led fogs. $120 I think.

The Toyota Tacoma User Manual shows this:
    2jfm20_0164271e308d7e42a10bdde6a89ee44ec547d2ec.jpg

The wattage is considerably different, as is the light pattern.
I have not checked to see if the base configuration is the same or different.
My truck is still in the manufacturing process, so I can't check the existing bulbs.

Anybody have good data for a "base" SR5?

I'm thinking back to the fall when I tried this...I think I tried to put in H11 LEDs, and they would not fit.....Hard to get at those suckers and I tried for 1/2 hour to get them to go in that final 1/16" or so... No go....Maybe the LEDs were longer, I did not notice that.
The damn bulbs that I pulled out had NO writing whatsoever...No idea if they are H11 or H16.

It's too darn cold out to check them till closer to spring....It's gonna be -30C this weekend here....!!!

It would be nice to know what models or trim level they used the H16's in......

I may be answering my own question ... here is a blurb from the Toyota Tacoma e_brochure:

Projector-beam headights with turn Daytime Running Lights (DRL) and integrated fog lights [standard on SR5]
Projector-beam headlights with LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL) and integrated wide-angle fog lights [standard on TRD Sport & TRD Off-road]

So, if you have a base model SR5, "the book" calls for an H16
If you have a TRD Sport or OR, "the book" calls for an H11
