Yeah. A new spring pack fixed my clunk which I though was in the tranny but turned out to be axle wrap. I still have a rattle in the front end that is driving me crazy. It sounds like it is in the coilovers. every little slow speed bump causes a rattle.

I'm thinking though that you could still be axle wrapping since I believe most of the load on the spring comes from the braking and not the driveline. After the stop and the truck rocks back then the spring unloads and clunks. Just a thought.

I remember your 5spd DC project was one of the first I saw when I got my Tacoma. Some day...either that or I will massacre a poor 5 spd Xtra and stick my cab on it.

My leafs are pretty beefy, also it does it just rolling without any throttle or braking and tranny in neutral. So IDK, I'm not too worried, truck is a symphony of noises, I basically have to have the radio at deafening levels to avoid all the noises. Sound deadening is moving up the list. Everything else is going to be changed soon, I have new axle gears to put in, I'm growing tired of my 5100s and Eibachs so I'm going to launch them as well, will redo the front diff bushings as well. Eventually the noise will just one day disappear. :annoyed:

I just ended up replacing my whole drive shaft since it was dented, needed the carrier bearing replaced, and maybe a u-joint. Absolutely no more play, axle wrap feel, or clunk anymore haha

I think I may have all the u-joints/carrier bearing done soon, mine is still in otherwise good shape. But I have definite play in the diff I can turn the drive shaft with the wheels on the ground and make it clunk, surprisingly it doesn't make noise on the road (except possibly the clunk I hear occasionally).

Lots of dust and custom dents, Check Build
I know a lot of people have used the Napa eclipse calipers. I got a good deal on reman units from powerstop with no core, so I'll be trying those. Really, I'm not an expert on it.

As of now, planning on trying Hawk LTS pads this go around with Centric premium rotors. I think my EBC sport rotors I have now attract dust and dirt and shit in the dimples and slots. So I'm not convinced that's an upgrade for someone who wheels a lot. Also, not going back to EBC greenstuff pads. Performance was excellent, life was terrible. Hoping to find an good compromise.

Do these just go over the carpet or do you pull the carpet and put this in as a replacement?

it replaces the carpet. You need to trim to fit--it comes big around door sills and front/back but the trans hump and what not is molded in.

If I did get it I would seal the bottom and make the drain holes come up through the vinyl so you can just drain it this way instead of needing to pull the vinyl if you submarine.
