Hi guys, just wanted to share a little bit about what RCI has been up to over the recent months!

With the release of the new Tacoma we were lucky enough to snag one last November and are really loving the new truck! We were able to fully prototype the 3rd Gen even before that as part of Toytec Lifts SEMA build which turned out awesome.

As an update on our skid plate system, we had a number of requests for oil filter access WITHOUT removal of the front skid. We listened and are now including this feature standard on all 2016 front plates!

Additionally, we are working on some prototype bumpers which will initially be used only on the RCI Tacoma, but I would love to get your feedback as things progress... you never know we might start offering them ;)

Here is some pics of our 2016 products

How about a president's day sale? 20% off and free shipping? I'd buy all the armor in aluminum and maybe the sliders.

Edit: No go on the sliders. You dont make one or DCLB.

I like the access plate for the oil filter, good idea. Did you reroute the exhaust?

I just ordered a set of skids a couple days ago. Oil filter access will be nice but won't it make a mess from drips? Guess we could stuff a rag in there before removing.

Also on your T-case skid plate-IMO you should give specific details hows it's mounted with the OEM low hanging exhaust. The spacer on the cross member etc etc. I knew already from ONE post you made in a pervious thread that had ONE photo of it. This seems to be a common question on that skid and would clear it up.

The bumper is what I have been asking for, one with a hidden hitch! I have drug my hitch a few times and this would solve that issue. I had home made one on my 1st gen and loved it. See photo's below.

I assume the 4 small round holes are for OEM sensors? Will the bumer beig all metal interfoear with these sensors?
What lights will fit in the 2 other large holes next to the recovery points?
The gap between the tail lights and bumper appears to be larger than the gap with the OEM bumper, is it the photo or is there a reason the gap is larger?

Would be nice if there was a way to have the 'lower step area' under the license plate. This is a very handy spot to step on to get into the bed if needed. Not sure it would be doable with a flip up license plate and still be able to use a hitch though.

Will a spare still fit in behind it and the hitch?

Any plans for some rear fender protection as seen in my pic's?
Personally I wouldn't want the 2 recovery points. I'd use the hitch as a recovery point if needed.

    When can I order :D

One additional question on top of what @Mike330R already asked. Is it safe to assume you lose BSM with a plate rear bumper? My understanding is that they use different sensors from the backup ones that for through the plastic at the far corners of the bumper.

I'm sure they'll tell you soon but those circular cut-outs are definitely for the bsm and back up monitors

RCI is a great local shop! I bought all three skids from them. Not sure about the rear bumper though Josh (the tow point and how would your license plates mounting area). Digging the angles and light cut outs :hattip:

The round cutouts are for the backup sensors. The BSM sensors are different than the backup sensors and as of now this bumper will not be compatible though we have plans for making this possible. The rectangle light cutouts are for a pair of Rigid SRQ backup lights.

The bumper will use a flip up license plate mount, which will hide the hitch opening most of the time.

Also, the spare tire will still fit with about two inches extra with this bumper installed.
