Random stupid question, but I thought this thread is used to me asking those. What do you guys do when it comes time to rebuild your shock, if it is your Daily Driver? Do people pick up a set of spare shocks to slap on until they can get or rebuild the shocks themselves?

Save the time and money and do them yourself. Not really any specials tools needed (aside from the nitro), and a standard rebuild takes no time what so ever!!! If not, find someone with their stock shocks still and slap those things on!! That's one of the reasons why I kept all my stock suspension parts.

Yea but you wouldn't be able to drive your truck around with the stock suspension would you? I thought you had big ol' tires under your beast!
And I have heard that the rebuild is simple, just a thought that has popped into my head.

One of the Anthonys does rebuilds. Not sure how fast though.

I recently found my OEM shocks if you need them.

Are you talking about rebuilding your rears or front coilovers?

When I rebuilt my rears, I just drove around with no shocks for the day. Wasn't really an issue

Thanks for the help, but I am still a stock-er. I just had the thought so I didnt know how you guys handled it. Somehow I am trying to justify buying 5100's to get some use out of them before going big boy lift. That way when I would need to rebuild the big boys I could slap the used 5100's on and stay close to the same ride height and not have to speed through a rebuild.
I was thinking of all the way around I guess. Front would be more of an issue though wouldnt it?

I'm sure someone on here would let you borrow their stuck suspension if it came down to it. It takes longer to get shocks off the truck than to service them.

IIRC there is someone on TW that has been running his truck without shocks for a while now. Don't recall who it is though. It's not that bad at all

    Truth!

lol, Like I said it isn't that I need to borrow a stock setup. I guess I am just trying to convince myself to splurge on 5100's cause I want a lift and shit, bad.... but I know I would get scolded by @Manwithoutaplan and @Rock Lobster lol not really but as they now this idea pops into my head every once in a while. This time I am just trying to justify it. I guess I need to just squish it like a bug...

That is even more expensive. I just want a lift and cant afford the big boys right now. I just need to keep burying this deep down inside my gut and never let it see the light of day. Then one day I can laugh at my younger self for ever having these thoughts while I off road on Kings/Icons/FOX.
