Hello there. I just got a Magnuson Supercharger for my 2001 Tacoma. The instructions look rather simple, but I'm not quite sure if it's a good idea to do it myself. Any recommendations?

Also, according to the instructions, install it and gtg. So when does the 7th stage injector kit come in? How about the boost gauges? I mean, are they both Necessary?

Moreover, any tips, recommendations before, during and after installation? anything that will make my life easier will be super appreciated!

Thanks a bunch, you guys ROCK!

P.S: Been looking around the forums about all this and I just can't pinpoint an answer to all of these questions. Thanks again!

My supercharger was installed by my truck's previous owner, who was a Toyota mechanic, so I can't offer much advice on the install.

Depending on your altitude, a fuel system upgrade (e.g., URD's 7th Injector Kit) is recommended to safely get the most out of your upgrade. The stock fuel system and ECU calibration simply aren't up to the task of metering sufficient fuel for the supercharger, especially if you're not operating at high altitude. (I only occasionally experienced lean-out conditions here, at ~7K feet of elevation.) Having done dyno pulls before and after install of my 7th Injector Kit, however, I can tell you (when properly tuned) power delivery is smoother and A/F ratios are safer throughout the power band.

I'm not sure why you'd need more than one boost gauge, but I find mine useful. It's one of the ways you know things are/are not working as they should be.

    Everything is better yourself.

    Should be simple install.

Id get an wideband O2 sensor and afr gauge for sure. Boost gauge is just nice to monitor.

    7th injector is definitely recomended

I installed a wideband AFR gauge. The installer said that it sucks (Glowshift), for he hooked up the ones he uses (AEM) And mine was 2 points below. As of right now, mine sits at 14.5 under most driving conditions. Is this bad? Good? Ok? Thanks!

14.5 under normal conditions is normal and good.

11.5 under WOT boost is ideal

So, when is it bad? Below what and above what?
I baby my truck so I doubt I'll find out. I drive her normally (hence the under normal conditions 14.5.
Anyway, limits? Lower and upper? Thanks!

Over 15.5 and something's up. 16+ and major issues could occur.

Below 11 and your just dumping fuel through the truck. Below 10 and you're way rich and bogging the motor and could stall it.

Superchargers aren't for babied rigs haha

How much boost is your setup running if you don't mind?

I know, but I just don't step on it without a reason (going up the sierras, passing people). But just straight up pedal to metal on a green light? Not my style ;)

If you tune it right, you can drive it any way you want to.
