Thats what I was gonna do. But I couldn't find the stock bulbs. But now the dash or instrument cluster does not work at all. :annoyed: Then I go to put the stock bulbs in after the fact and still no luck. Checked all fuses under hood and under the divers side panel. Everything has checked out so far. I am hoping that I am just missing another fuse or fuse box somewhere.

I hate to say it... but you went in their with aftermarket HIDs and leds. You gave them a reason to not warranty your truck. I think they do mark your VIN. You might be screwed, i hope others learn from this.

Hahaha yeah they said I can bring it back if I wanted I would just need to put all of the stock lights back. Only problem is I never bought or purchased any extended warranty because of what I had planned for the truck. lol So oh well. Also they said it would cost me up to $600 just to diagnose the problem. 2016 Toyota Tacoma.jpg

Stock provides plenty of light. Especially when compared to the Gen 2

I think people mess with their lighting for aesthetic reasons more than safety. Easy to screw up CPU run electronics. I would say the dealer is protected on this one.

Lesson learned: always revert to stock before going to the dealership.

How long after this started to happen? And what brand of lights did you use? Might call the company of the lights you bought and ask of there has been any other issues like this. Worth a shot.

I think they should give him a free diagnosis at least, but for the most part it very well could have been the after market lights that some how screwed up the computer or wiring. I think the dealer is covered by this.

They do try to sneak shit like this in though. I had them tell me my after market tint was messing up the weather seal on the back window and making it bow out on the top. After I showed them a forum on here of people with the same issue and no tint and also showed them the trucks on their lot having the same thing they dismissed that it was my fault.

I would have changed to stock lights before going in there though.

I'm interested in knowing why the problem seems to happen to those who change the stock lights but not add half a billion LED light bars to their trucks?

Because the people that are adding a half a billion light bars to their trucks are wiring directly to the battery, or a secondary fuse panel and then to the battery, circumventing all existing wiring. Changing bulbs from incandescent or halogen to LED or HID or any other alteration changes the loading on an OEM circuit. An OEM circuit that has seemingly been designed with tolerances that don't seem to like people fucking with them.
