Looking to buy regular cab 4x4 (Any comments, good or bad on them?)

I am going to look at a regular cab tacoma with 4 cylinder, 5 speed this week to purchase if I like it. Anyone own one have any comments good or bad about them? Do they have alot of legroom with regular cab? I am 5'11.

good truck, and you will fit fine, I am 5/10, and there is plenty of seat travel

I found the bench to be quite uncomfortable though, so if you can find a sr5 reg, they have buckets, and are much more comfortable.

I bought the access cab, but basically a base model Tacoma, and love driving this thing

 

I just bought a '10 regular cab 4x4. I've had it a couple months now and no complaints. I'm 6' and its fine for me, but getting out of the truck is a little uncomfortable for some reason. Don't expect to riding with a 3rd passenger much. Also, the whole seat/bench is connected so your passenger can't adjust their seat (I have a friend that is 6'6" and doesn't ride very comfortably). With that said, the truck is what I was looking for, but it definately isn't for everyone.

 

5'11' here 34" legs . This truck is good on leg room. I like the bench seat as far as bench seats go,youll have to decide that part yourself.

Find a hill and test drive if you can, the 4 cyl has good power but its no sproty v-6 , but you need to bring it up to 2500-3500 rpm to be usefull. I like mine!

only downsides to me and they dont bother me, is the lack of space when 2 people get in it with the usual bags /packs etc , ....and being a short w/b that turns in 35' they fell a bit wiggly in a cross wind.

 

So if I purchase and install a little bigger tires, will the 4 cylinder be ok without regearing the truck?

 

some will say yes , some will say no. I say you wont HAVE to regear, but you find it desireable if you 4wheel or like strong acceleration.

 

Unfortunately Toyota stopped offering buckets in the regular cab Tacoma SR5 for the 2010 model year. I just received an ordered '10 4x4 r/c SR5 and it was only available with a bench. I find the bench comfortable however if the driver is shorter than 5'5', a tall passenger may feel otherwise.

 

I have 265/75/16 toyo mts on mine, and its fine. And this is a heavy tire being 10 ply.
I noticed a bit of power loss when I first put them on .. but now I have gotten use to it.
If I went up to a 33 I think I would start to think about regearing
