"While the powertrain, CRAWL control, Multi-terrain Select system, trailer sway control and locking rear differential, among other features, are carried over from other Tacoma models, Toyota ramps up the “bad ass” nature of the TRD PRO by adding:

    • FOX 2.5 Internal Bypass shocks tuned by TRD
    • TRD-tuned front springs with a 1-inch lift
    • TRD-tuned rear suspension with progressive-rate off-road leaf spring
No word on pricing as of yet. The new 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD PRO will at dealers this fall."

I stand corrected, thanks! Still, my point was that it is already an option.

They do with the technology package - I have auto headlights. Looks like the Pro comes with the tech package by default, just without the sunroof.

Or did they keep the sunroof and I just missed it?

article/blog says it's "progressive-rate off-road leaf spring" (though I have no idea what that means)

google hellwig products.... my guess would be that Toyota either bought or copied their load control leaf spring design.
(they were already out in the Cali talking to King and King and Hellwig have been known to partner together for offroad vehicle projects before...)
    http://www.truckcampermagazine.com/news/hellwig-products-launches-toyota-tacoma-spring-pack/

they also have other products... http://www.hellwigproducts.com/products/load-control/load-pro-series/
geared towards progessive leaf spring rates
