Long story short; My grandpa, 91, had a stroke Wed. before Thanksgiving. Good news is he's pretty much fine except he has no balance, but we're hoping that's temporary.
Bad news is they determined he had a stroke/mini-stroke sometime before this. He's had really bad balance for a while now.
He's never really had any health problems. 6 years ago he had bypass surgery, but it was more a preventative things, i.e., it wasn't in response to a heart attack or anything. The bad thing is my dad and aunt have to decide what to do in regards to his living situation. He lives by himself near Memphis and they are going to talk to him about moving in with one of them.
It really wasn't that bad, but i'm just worried this might lead to more problems. So just pray for him and our family.
    Thanks,
    Colin

Thanks guys. I really hope he can hold out til we have a son and/or I get my PhD. I want him to see that the family name will go at least 1 more generation, and I'd like him to see the 1st of our family with a PhD. He's really the reason I pursued graduate school. So hopefully he's got at least 2 more years.

    Update: bad news
my grandpa is not doing well. he was in the hospital this weekend and the diagnosis is not good. he has pneumonia, he's anemic, he is losing blood, but they don't know where (they put 3 pints into him at the hospital), and one of his heart valves is not working. the doctor told my aunt he could live a few years or die tomorrow. he's 91, so his options are limited. i am driving to my aunt's to see him this weekend.
