I also really like the mod of mini-blinds on the windows of the truck. Is that drivers side or passenger side, can't tell from the photo?

love this mod - gonna start shopping for parts!

by the way, in alot of the pics of mods to center consoles (like Cafe du jour's post above) I am seeing a mini cargo net on the passenger side of the cubby; my '10 came with slots in the console for this, but no net. Was this a stock accessory in prior years, or is it something you bought, and if so where?

last night I swung by Auto Zone to check out LED options - found some of the self-adhesive strips I've seen elsewhere on this site and boy are they bright. Then I went to Radio Shack looking for switches and bought a set of these:

    http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2062540

the key words in the description if you're searching are 'momentary switch, normally closed'. Momentary means they're spring loaded, no clicks of locks; normally closed means they're on when released and you have to push them down to turn them off - just the ticket for this application.

Gonna get busy this weekend on my console box and also my glove compartment, if successful will post pics. It's great to be doing mods to my new truck, makes it feel like mine!

Oh and my dealer said the mini cargo nets aren't a Toyota item, must be aftermarket - but a call to another dealer got one special-ordered for $8... go figure.

    Just enough, and never enough
I know how old this thread is... and with that out of the way, i have done a similar mod just with a flexible LED strip from oznium that ties into my existing LEDs I'll post a pic if i get the camera working again. The OP made me want to do this for so long.

Looking to do this sort of thing all over the inside of my truck, foot wells, above the climate controls, bottom edge of the doors, glove box and the center console. I plan on buying a 5 meter reel of the LED tape off Amazon, possibly the waterproof stuff for less than $10, adding a dimmer, an on off switch and momentary normally closed switch on the doors, glove box and the center console. Then I can put as much tape as will fit in the areas it's going and i can dim it down if its too bright for driving and turn it up when I actually need to find something. Every so slightly tempted to use RGBw tape and have a multi position switch where I could choose what color I'm running, lest it get too boring (or in case I really need white light to do some other mod!). I haven't worked out exactly how and where I will be mounting all this, tape switches and all, but when I do I will post some photos. We will see what I actually end up with...

    Very cool, a nice addition.
