That's what I wanted to know...there's no way someone could make a change that drastic in 8 weeks...

I did a few different supps early on but that was to lose weight, in which I first modified my diet drastically and started/upped my exercise. It did help and got me over a big plateau I got stuck on, but still had to keep doing right. Haven't done the fat burners in a long time now.

I post the occasional gym selfie but it's not often..and have a few friends who get a kick out of them..

Alright gym brahs. Question: What look do you like better, the old school bodybuilders or the new school? Old school focused more on proportion and leanness, where new school focuses strictly on mass. I'm partial to the old school, myself

Heavy squat day today. Gonna break out the knee brace and see if it keeps my knee from being so uncomfortable.

I'm doing a traditional split this week. Did chest/tris Monday & back/bis Tuesday. Gonna do legs tonight and shoulders tomorrow night. I love my upper/lower split, but I also love doing this every 4 weeks or so to get the muscles super sore.

I looked around my current area (in Seattle till April) closest one I could was in Oregon in early April. I've decided I enjoy the strong man competitions more. It's more of a total package in fitness imo.
Side note, if I can add just 5#s to my squat today, my new 3 total is 1500

    Thanks!

Congrats man. That's a great total.
Went through a 16 week strength cycle and finishing this rest week up before I get back in to it again. Hopefully continue to improve my squat and DL - trying to get my nutrition lined out to get down to about 185ish

This weekend is going to take a toll on my gains!

Friday - Poker Night...AKA beer (lots of it), burgers and lots of dips
Saturday - Homework and Working on the truck (Beer is a required tool, duh)
Sunday - Girlfriend has a bunch of chocolate for me, snowshoeing (cardio? Gross), deadpool (xlarge popcorn w/ extra butter please), and dinner will be some amazing creation we come up with. Probably go out at night with some friends for...you guessed it! Beer.

I'd say old school, new age is more of a freak show than an art, even though the size is impressive.

Look up Calum Von moger, he's the reigning mr universe right now.

Knee feels ok with the knee brace. It's weird squatting with it, I don't like it, but my knee feels OK. Still, though, I think I might take a couple weeks off from squats, see what happens. I'm also going to deload (on everything) next week, I think. I've been going heavy for a while now, time to switch things up.

sounds like an average weekend for me :anonymous:

Jeez. Dude is like a reincarnated Arnold

My knee is still aching from last Friday. I'm gonna hold off on squats until it feels better. I guess it's just a strain or something. Just really tight pressure

My pain usually goes away in a couple days.

I don't like squatting with a brace or anything, but I'm probably going to start. Unless I get some wraps or something...but I don't feel like I squat heavy enough for wraps :anonymous:

I would recommend a brace or a sleeve or something. A little extra pressure/stability can't hurt.

Yeah, I thought mine was fully healed, but after rabbit hunting all day Saturday, it started hurting again. Also, at school, I always take the stairs over the elevator, so I climbed about 20 flights of stairs total this week, which I'm sure didn't help it. I've never had any issues with my knees and this isn't something major, but I definitely don't wanna turn it into anything major by trying to squat.

Also, how many of you use those Adidas powerlifting shoes?

I've always been more of a flat-footed shoe kinda guy on squat/deadlift day.. Whether it be my hightop chucks or some slip-on Vans.. I just hate having shoes with a higher back heel for leg days.
One of my coworkers swears by them, though. I then told him about the whole back-heel thing I don't like but then mentioned some old-school Tom Platz training techniques, freaking squatting with a 2x4 at his heels.
