I didn't, I thought I got pictures of everything but I missed that. I got pictures of all the pieces in the lens. I didn't really mess with the reflectors and projector so I guess I just forgot to take a picture. Sorry

It was extremely humid last night. Actually got some pretty bad orange peel on the right reflector. Pisses me off but I'm not opening them back up any time soon

I put them in the oven at 270 for 10 min on a piece of cardboard, and the first time I took them out it was pretty useless. The glue was still like a rock. Another 7-8 min and I could get under them a little.... Another 7-8 and a little more until I could get my fingers in between... And they stay very hot. The smaller outside corner was the easiest place to finally get the knife behind the lens but that corner of the housing also cracked very easy. Mine both have small cracks there. I would advise prying on the top near the middle, or on the bottom until you get in and then pull them apart. There was some serious prying though. I don't see how you can do it without bending back the edges of the housing. They bend back in place under heat but not as nicely as they look originally. I would also advise bending back the little tabs after its hot because the bend under heat. One of mine broke before I even got it in the oven. The heat was no problem for the lens or housing. The housing did melt a very little bit in I've spot inside. There is an alignment tang on the side reflector that sits in the housing and it melted the housing where those two pieces meet. Not enough to tell outside though. Very minor. Didn't change anything inside either. Just mad one part of the housing shiny inside

typically, when I am doing retrofits, I have found that on most, if not all of the headlights, 220*F at 17 mins is a good time and temp to soften the adhesive and make it so that very little prying is needed

Does any melting / oven stuff need to be done just to get the outside clear casing off the front? Or is that just clipped on?

No after market at the moment. There are companies that will do it for you but you will be without headlights at least a week I would assume.

Alternative to putting lights in oven: Use a card board box and heat gun. You wont melt lights. If your looking for halo's or LED addons the best kits out there are from https://www.theretrofitsource.com/ Projectors put off a lot of heat so be mind full of the paint you use. Do Not use engine enamel, it will crack. Recommend using oven cleaner to get the chrome off before painting. We have found Krylon sticks the best and lays down a smooth coat.

Retrofitsource also sells the sealant for the lights. You can reuse yours but if there is a spot that doesn't seal you will have moisture issues. $8.00 goes a long way instead of replacing lights.

Not trying to high jack thread, i have a ton of experience with lights and if i can help you do something amazing it's worth it. Anyone can do this mod if you take it slow. You tub Vids everywhere. 5 Min in box, all it takes, no melting or putting toxic fums in wife's oven.
