I had some great Tom Yum soup yesterday, excellent lemon grass flavor a delicious and healthy soup.

Personally I do not like Thai iced tea I think dairy in tea is just plain wrong. Thai lemonaide rocks however and is actually more lime than lemon and is delicious.

First I've ever heard of Thai lemonade. Might have to hunt that down.

In my humble opine, Thai is much better than your average dime a dozen Chinese restaurant.

    Anything thai.

Some consider pad thai to be lesser, however, I'd happily eat my body weight in it any time. Make mine thai spicy, please - and not thai spicy for the white guy - burn me!

I havent found a place where its NOT white guy spicy...This one Thai place I went to with some co-workers was good and one bald guy was sweating bullets, I thought man that must be some spicy stuff...I tried it and although good it was only 2 level on MY scale of 1-10;)

    Same.

I always make it clear I want it SPICY. I've always heard that if you ask for spicy and you're not Thai they give you some "thai spicy" dish, but if you're Thai they know what to serve you and how to do it. Literally every Thai place I've eaten at I ask for it to be extra spicy, thai spicy, etc,. etc,. and every time it's lukewarm - even when they load it with heat.

This has been over 5 years now, so I'm not sure if I'm the problem or if nobody actually serves the mythical heat - but it's a disappointment on the hot side of things. That said, I've had a lot of great food trying to find it. Thai might be my favorite cuisine, next to sushi.

I hear that...I think over the years my spicy tolerance level is much greater than the average person.

I went to a Mexican restaurant in SD and I asked for some spicy sauce and I was seated next to the kitchen and the cooks (in spanish) basically said we'll fix it really hot...They brought some out with their tortilla chips and I ate the whole little dipping bowl...I could hear the mexicans in the back gasping like I was superman or something ;) It was good but not what I call "spicy". I dont like extremely spicy, just enough heat to know its there and give food a good kick!

My wife is Thai. All I can say is if it's done right, you'll be melting porcelain a little while after.

I don't like to sacrifice heat for flavor, if it's hot and it tastes like shit then I want nothing of it - if it's literally melting my face and it tastes great I can't help but enjoy it.

Last time I went out for wings the kitchen took my request for "super hot" as a challenge. They were good, good flavor but not scorched earth hot like they anticipated. Still could've used a bucket of milk to sit in the next morning..

I like it hot enough to make my scalp sweat, but not needing a 911 call.
