I'm sure it's some R&D going on. But portal axles would be awesome! Tacomas should come stock with them.lol

One way to put it but yes in leaf sprung vehicles like the Tacoma the axle will rotate under hard acceleration or even deceleration.
While wheeling this is really bad cause it will actually start to hop putting lots of pressure on gears.

It's a son of a bitch to fix sometimes. If you are experiencing wrap you need to figure it out.

Steyr-Puch Pinzgauer 6x6. Had 33's on it but could fit 35's. Full locking diffs, enough ground clearance to fit a 5 gallon bucket to drain the diff oil. Looks top heavy but it wasn't at all311711_2426728352697_7887418_n.jpg

Give me about a year after I go LT and it most likely will be.

That's one thing about the 63 swap that worries me. Those springs are so flexy that if you are climbing and obstacle and those leafs start to "S" you can snap a ujoint or DL really quick.

It is!... when it worked. Wasn't the most reliable which is why he sold it. Seats went down the sides in the back, could fit 14 people total. They also fold flat to make a 10ft flat bed.

Dakota has bad axle wrap with his chevy 63's. After my Dakars need to be replaced Ill 3 link the rear from the guy in SoCal (cant remember his screen name off hand). 12" travel coil over but he puts it up on the link so it yields 21" of travel at the axle. He did @Evenflow's truck.
