Problems with my gas level sending unit

    So about four days ago, I put gas in it and I noticed that it didn't move. Last night I was driving and the light turned on that I needed gas but then slowly moved back to it's position and hasn't moved anymore but it's something I worry about since I don't want to be stranded. If you guys have experienced this or know how to fix it, let me know.

    Oh, I looked at two last night and they were $28-$50 but they were universal so idk if it'll work.

    I would get an OEM one. The sending unit is attached to the fuel pump, so you either have to drop the tank or remove the bed to get to it.

    its not hard. Easy if you have a second set of hands. Nothing to removing the bed. Just disconnect all the lights, and bumper lights, fuel filler, then un bolt the bed and remove.

    Well I'm gonna call toyota and ask how much the part is and hopefully it's not too expensive. As far as my a/c and transmission lights not working, is that just a fuse?

    well not too long ago I got a dvd player. It used to say that I couldn't watch dvd's while driving so the shop guy took the cable that is supposed to go to the parking brake, and connected it to the ground cable. Is that what messed it up maybe?

    I doubt that caused it, but a loose connector or shitty splice somewhere could. You could always try to remove that one wire from the ground and see what happens. It will help build your troubleshooting skills.

    well i left the harness unconnected to anything. so the stereo harness was just hanging for a day and I noticed the lights stopped working. (this was before doing any of the ground stuff) This happened to my brother, he did the same thing but it was just a fuse. Would it be the same for me?

    yeah I'm gonna go get some fuses. I still think the fuel thing needs to be replaced though. That happened before I put the new dvd player or anything.
