Good Lord. Heavy duty. Thicker than I am used to. 3mm is my max. This one came 4mm. It's a battle axe. Freaky sharp. I stropped it here at the office and it cuts news print without noise. Definitely baton-able if someone wanted to. Fit finish on the knife? Almost perfect. Some tiny grindmark leftovers. The sheath wasn't glued perfectly but should last. Might need a new stitch in the future. It's for my brother. I already sent it off. I wanted to see it before he did. So I spent the shipping extra to me. Then to him. I hope he likes it. Looks like a great multitask wilderness knife.

I had it made by a dude.

It's just G10, went after with a Dremel and sculpted, then knocked down my hand with some fine sand paper.

It's easy to do, wear a respirator. G10 makes some seriously nasty dust you don't want to breathe in.

I've considered doing some dremel work on the factory g10 scales

That'd make me nervous, though I would think factory scales are pretty reasonable to buy from someone who swapped.

Go for it! If not, G10 sheets aren't too pricey.

Ive thought about trying a wood one. The scale wouldn't be hard to replicate

    For sure.

    Wood is cheaper still.

    Use a hardwood.

I had some Osage orange laying around for a fixed blade but I got tired of whittling it away. Shit is rock hard.

    Do it!

You can use the factory scales to outline, then it's just a matter of sanding to your preference.

Post pics as you go.

I couldn't get this fucking pressed in lanyard tube out so I put it back together. Maybe another day when I've got more time.

Don't know what it is but my dad just gave me this tiny little folder and it's awesome lol. Has an assisted open that shoots open extremely hard for its size. I dunno i just love it haha.

I'd hope they mean "assisted" and not "automatic" (which would be illegal in CA) :)

Most all ProTech's that I've ever seen are sold as Automatics and come with a legal disclaimer saying that YOU are responsible for knowing your state laws regarding knives. But at least we're not in the UK.

Lol I said assisted so it's all good :p

    Haha

Good to know lol. I was just a bit surprised to find out how much this tiny thing costs lol. I mean it feels quality but I don't think I'd ever pay 110 for something that small.
