    Hey Everyone,

Name is Steven, I have been lurking on here the past couple weeks, but finally decided to create an account and so forth. I reside in the Tyler area of Texas.

I am currently in the market to purchase a 2011-2014 Double Cab TRD Off Road Tacoma, right now I am driving a 2013 MazdaSpeed 3. Having to part out some stuff on it this coming weekend, and then the weekend of the 20th I am planning on trying to find a TRD Off Road somewhere in East Texas to purchase.

I recently bought a house myself and have been wanting to get back into a truck, I have always loved the looks of the Tacoma and recently test drove one and pretty much am set on that is what I am getting. I do plan on building it out so if I wanted to head camping or off roading, I can just pack it up and head out.

There are a ton of great builds on this forum and I am already planning out what I want to do in terms of add-ons.

I look forward to learning a lot and seeing what other people have done or what I can come up with myself.

Welcome to TW. Curious, with late 2nd gen prices, why not just buy new?

    Couple reasons for me.
    1. Pricing, I am looking to get a TRD Off Road for around 30k, have found a couple for less than 60k miles on them. I bought my last two cars new and not wanting to spend close to another 10k for a new model TRD
    2. Looks, I am a huge fan of the 2nd gen trucks, have always like how they have looked, the new ones. Not so much... the front end just kills it for me.
    3. Aftermarket, to me the aftermarket stuff for the 2nd gen is way better than waiting on stuff for the 3rd gens. I guess you can say my vision for my truck has always been a 2nd gen and I am not wanting to sway from that.

Yeah the looks and the power train of the 3rd gen are turn offs for some. With aftermarket stuff in mind, it's cool to see you have your eye on the prize, and know what you really want. Once you get a Taco, you should start a build thread and show us progress on the truck. Good luck in the search.

Will do! I already have a excel spreadsheet built of possible stuff I want to do to it.
