Rust threads are a bit of personal anecdote and issues based on where people live for the most part. A little dash of preventative maintenance and good undercoating practice and you should be fine. Some people even in the saltiest areas will say they have no rust and others beg to differ. It's a mixed bag. Only time will tell how the late 2nd gens hold up. Then again I don't live in the rust belt so all the people up north tell people like me to shut up :)

@RearViewMirror 's Tacoma frame and undercarriage are going to last until the apocalypse. So clean a 5 star restaurant would serve food off of it.

Man... Some of you guys are ambitious. I'm going to drive mine for 3 years and trade it in. No worries. 81% of my MSRP value retained! Genius.

I think some dudes on here are more concerned with their trucks than their own health.

LOL, you know how I know you don't live in cold weather? If you throw hot water on a frozen driveway, what do you imagine will happen to that hot water?

My 2015 has a wax like coating on the frame. I still sprayed it down good with fluid film.

Yea if you live in areas where they use salt on the roads, washing the under side of your vehicle is just as important as washing the body. Also spraying the frame with some sort of protectant yearly goes along way if you plan on keeping your vehicle for a numbers yrs. I had my 98 Tacoma for 18yrs and the frame had no rust.

It melts the frozen crap and runs down your driveway onto the road.
    You know how I know?

My frames "perfect" according to anyone who has been under it....and I live in the salt belt. So...yeah, your theory sucks. ;)
