Rattle can rustoleum, F it, its a second gen tacoma it never looked good at any point of its life:luvya:. That way if you scratch it you can just paint over it before it rusts.

I started doing that with my truck, BTW white gloss rustoleum does NOT match factory toyota white LOL.

I think the body and paint is still just a tad too nice to apply actual paint on it just yet...

Finally got some good news today, my frame is at the dealership and they are starting the tear down today. I spoke with the tech, and he has done over 200 frame swaps between the 1st and 2nd gen taco's, and Tundras so that calmed my nerves a bit regarding issues with the swap. It should be done in the middle of next week as long as there are no issues, I can't wait! He said he will have it torn down to the frame on Saturday morning so hopefully I will be able to go and grab a few more pics.

You should see if they'd let you paint it with por 15 prior to them doing what they have to do.

Not a bad idea, I don't know how they will feel about it because they crank them out pretty quick an they have one guy that solely does frame replacements so they probably won't want any down time. Ether way, I am going to do Por-15 or Fluid Film before next winter for sure.

Yep, I asked them to throw the new replacement leafs in the bed and transfer mine onto the new frame. I dropped off a set of new SPC Upper Control arms today for him to install as well. I figured it made sense to get the new bushings/ball joints installed and not have to pay for another alignment down the road, and I can sell the old ones for around $150 it looks like to recoup some of the cost.

Toyota of Naperville, I was really nervous from all of the horror stories I had heard on here, but these guys have been fantastic so far.

Honestly, I worked at Brian Bemis Toyota in Dekalb for 3 years as a porter when I was in college, I have grown to hate pretty much all car salesmen. It is incredibly hard to find someone that isn't just there to make a quick buck, and actually listens to what you want and tries to help, I have found those are the guys that get repeat customers are willing deal more on cars. They looked at my truck about a month ago while it was sitting in the back lot, and offered me 15k to trade it in and they would sit on it until the frame came. I actually think the offer was pretty fair, but told the salesman no thanks as I wasn't looking for a high car payment again. He has been calling me about every 3-4 days to ask if I have changed my mind or offering me a different taco that came in on trade, to the point where I probably wouldn't go back to him when I am ready to buy.

Naperville Toyota pissed me off when I was looking for a Tacoma. They had a 2011 4x4 RC 4 cyl manual on there website with an Internet special price. Went to look at it and the Internet price suddenly became a recent college grad price. Got up and left and the sales jerk followed me to my car.

Brain Bemis was cool on the phone, they just didnt have the options we wanted.
I was jacked around by Elgin Toyota as well. I ended up buying from countryside toyota and did 100% of the price negotiation with the internet sales dept via email, got a fair deal and went in there 30mins before they closed on a Friday to pick it up. I told them if they deviate from the agreed upon price I'm leaving. I walked in looked at the car, and went to finance. The finance guy did some light selling on a warranty but looked like he wanted to GTFO of there which was perfect for me LOL. Good people to deal with over there compared to the others.

I wont even go near thomas toyota.... Its a shame that the dealers around here overall suck!

I cant wait until Tesla's sales model drives all these crooks out of business, i for one will not be shedding a tear!
